Part Time Love affair
Geisha Lyrics

Make me dream again
Part time love affair
Make me dream again
Part time love affair
Don't go anymore
Part time love affair
Part time love affair
Make me dream again
The lyrics of Geisha's "Part Time Love Affair" speak of a love affair that is not meant to last, hence the term "part-time." The song begins with the question "why?" as the singer wonders why their love had to end. They feel a sense of closeness with their lover who is so near, but at the same time, feels distant. They are entangled to a certain extent but long to dream again. The chorus speaks of this desire - of wanting to hear just one more word to ignite their dream of love.
The second verse describes the rules of their relationship and how they seem to have forgotten them. The singer wonders if they should speak their mind and tell their lover that they don't want to go home yet. They remember the game they played on their first day, where they intertwined their fingers and wondered if their lover would smile the same way they did back then. The verse ends with the singer questioning why their voice fades away whenever they try to express their emotions openly.
The final verse continues with the sense of longing and regret, wishing they could have met sooner. They contemplate the magic of the moment and the bittersweet ache that comes with letting it go. They even humour themselves with silly musings like talking about wine and mimicking their lover's gestures. The song ends where it started, with the question "why" and a plea to hear just one more word.
Overall, "Part Time Love Affair" is a melancholic song that explores the complexities of a love affair that is fleeting and just out of reach, something that is not meant to last but leaves a lasting impression.
