After the Beatles stopped touring in 1966, George started writing more songs than could be fitted onto the albums so that by the time of the split he had built up a collection of songs, some used on his debut solo album, All Things Must Pass. The album, released in 1970, contains the two-time number one hit, "My Sweet Lord".
Harrison is also credited for creating music benefits, notably the 1971 Concert for Bangladesh. Harrison played beside Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Ringo Starr, and Leon Russell to a crowd of 40,000 in Madison Square Garden, New York. The show raised over $240,000 benefiting the George Harrison Fund for Bangladesh relief.
Harrison went on to release several successful solo albums, and in the late 1980s collaborated with Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty, in a group called Traveling Wilburys. The group released two albums. Later, Harrison reunited with the other two surviving Beatles, after John Lennon's murder in 1980, to produce two final Beatles records, "Free As a Bird" and "Real Love" featuring the voice of Lennon, taken from home demos provided by Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono. The three Beatles also co-wrote a massive autobiography and television special, both titled "The Beatles Anthology."
Before his death, Harrison conceived of a Cirque du Soleil show, "Love," featuring remixes of Beatles music which were overseen by Beatles producer George Martin.
Harrison died on November 29, 2001 after a battle with cancer, leaving behind a wife and son, Olivia and Dhani Harrison. His last album, Brainwashed, was released posthumously and featured the single "Any Road".
A benefit concert in Harrison's memory was played on 29 November 2002 at the Royal Albert Hall. The star-studded event (featuring Eric Clapton and Monty Python, as well as former band mates Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr) was released on the DVD double-album, Concert for George.
That Is All

Our love could save the day
That is all I'm waiting for
To try to love you more -
- and that is all I want to do
To get right next to you
That is all I'm living for,
And that is all
Times I find it hard to say
With useless words getting in my way
Silence often says much more
Than trying to say what's been
said before.
That is all I want from you
A smile when I feel blue
That is all I'm waiting for
Your love and nothing more
And that is all
Silence often says much more
Than trying to say what's been
said before.
But that is all I want to do
To give my love to you
That is all I'm living for,
Please let me love you more - and
that is all
The song "That Is All" by George Harrison is a beautiful love ballad with lyrics that are very straightforward and expressive. The singer expresses how he feels about his loved one and how their love is what he wants and needs to make everything better. The song begins with the singer declaring that he wants to say something, which is the fact that their love has the power to make everything better. He goes on to say that he wants to get closer to his lover and that he's living for their love and nothing more. The chorus repeats and emphasizes the message that the singer wants nothing more than the love of his partner.
The second verse of the song is quite interesting because the singer acknowledges that silence often says more than words. He then goes on to say that all he needs from his lover is a smile when he's feeling sad. He reiterates that he's waiting for their love and nothing more, expressing his commitment to their love. The final chorus of the song, the singer pleads with his lover to accept his love and to let him love her more as that's all he wants to do.
Overall, the lyrics of "That Is All" are very heartfelt and honest, expressing the deep emotions and desires of the singer's heart. It's a beautiful love song that captures the essence of true, unconditional love.
