Let me whisper in your ear
Say the words you long to hear

I've known the secret for a week or two
Listen do you want to know a secret
Do you promise not to tell woh woh woh closer
Let me whisper in your ear
Say the words you long to hear
I'm in love with you oo
In the song "Do You Want to Know a Secret" by George Martin, the lyrics express a hidden and deep love that the singer has for someone. The singer begins by emphasizing that the depth of their love and care is unknown to the person they are addressing. It's almost as if the singer is afraid to reveal the depths of their emotions, unsure if the other person will understand or reciprocate.
The phrase "Do you want to know a secret" serves as an invitation into the singer's innermost thoughts and feelings. They ask the person to promise not to tell, indicating that what they're about to disclose is something private and personal. By whispering in the person's ear, the singer creates an intimate connection, seeking reassurance and acceptance from the listener.
The repetition of the line "Say the words you long to hear" suggests that the singer has been waiting for the other person to express their feelings as well. It's possible that the singer has been holding their secret love for the person for weeks, creating a special bond between them. The final line, "I'm in love with you," reveals the ultimate secret that the singer has been keeping.
