O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder,
Dear Lord my God, as I stand here humbled before You, I am in awe, considering all the worlds You have created with Your own bare hands. And, as I gaze upon the wondrous beauty of the stars and listen to the thunderous roar of Your creation, I am simply blown away by Your power and glory manifested throughout the universe.

Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made;
As I think about all the realms of existence You have brought into being with Your own hands

I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
I see the magnificent sparkling shapes floating in space, and I hear the roaring sound of Your power and glory in the thunder

Thy power throughout the universe displayed.
It is evident that Your power, strength, and glory can be seen throughout the entire universe

Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee,
Therefore, I sing this heartfelt melody from the depths of my soul, oh Savior God, to You

How great Thou art, how great Thou art.
How truly great You are, there isn't anyone or anything in this world that can match Your greatness

When through the woods, and forest glades I wander,
When I roam aimlessly through the woods and shady forest valleys

And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees.
And then I hear the birds serenading beautifully in the foliage

When I look down, from lofty mountain grandeur
When I gaze downward from the mountainous heights of greatness

And see the brook, and feel the gentle breeze.
And then witness the flowing brook and feel the cool refreshing breezes on my skin

And when I think, that God, His Son not sparing;
And then I reflect upon the fact that God, without sparing His own son

Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
Sent Him to suffer and die, I can hardly believe the gravity of this selfless act

That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He willingly took up the burden of my sins and suffered immensely on the cross

He bled and died to take away my sin.
He shed His blood and ultimately died, solely for the purpose of cleansing away my sins and making me whole.

When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation,
When my Savior, Christ, returns in a grand entrance with joyful praises

And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart.
And take me to my heavenly home, my joy will be beyond measure.

Then I shall bow, in humble adoration,
Then I will humbly bow before You in endless reverence, worshiping Your greatness

And then proclaim: "My God, how great Thou art!"
And I will then joyfully proclaim to You, "Dear God, how truly great and wonderful You are!"
