While a first album (entitled Better Than the Rest) was recorded in 1974, the major recording debut came with the release of the eponymous album 'George Thorogood & The Destroyers', released in 1977 (Better Than the Rest was eventually released in 1979). The next album, entitled Move It On Over, was released in the autumn of 1978 and included the hit "Move It On Over" . Other singles from the album included "Please Set A Date" and "Who Do You Love".
During the 1980s, and 1990s, the band recorded some of their most well-known works, "Bad to the Bone" (used to great effect during the bar scene in Terminator 2: Judgment Day, and in the opening scene of John Carpenter's Christine), "I Drink Alone" (from the 'Maverick' album), "You Talk Too Much", and "If You Don't Start Drinking, I'm Gonna Leave".
Thorogood himself is best-known for his animated stage presence and loud, raucous electric slide guitar playing. He is also known as "Lonesome George".

Hello little girl
Hello little girl
When I see you everyday
I say, "Mm mm hello little girl"
When you're passing on your way
I say, "Mm mm hello little girl"
I cry, "Mm mm hello little girl"
When I try to catch your eye
I cry, "Mm mm hello little girl"
I send you flowers but you don't care
You never seem to see me standing there
I often wonder what you're thinking of
I hope it's me and love love love
So I hope there'll come a day
When you'll say, "Mm you're my little girl"
It's not the first time that it's happened to me,
It's been a long lonely time
And it's funny funny to see that I'm about to lose my mind mind mind
So I hope there'll come a day
When you say, "Mm mm
You're my little girl, mm mm mm
You're my little girl, mm mm mm"
You're my little girl, oh yeah
You're my little girl
Do do do do do
The song "Hello Little Girl" by George Thorogood and the Destroyers is about a man who is infatuated with a young woman who he sees every day but has never spoken to. He admires her from afar and tries to catch her attention but she seems oblivious to his presence. He sends her flowers but she doesn't seem to care. He is constantly wondering what she is thinking about and hopes that it's him.
The lyrics in the song showcase a sort of innocence and longing that is present in crushes and infatuations. The man in the song is hoping for reciprocation from the woman, hoping that she will one day see him as a potential love interest.
The song is a classic rock and roll track that showcases George Thorogood's blues guitar and howling vocals. The repetitive nature of the song's structure, with the same lyrics repeated multiple times, adds to the hypnotic nature of the track. The song has a nostalgic feel to it, harkening back to a simpler time when a crush could be all-consuming.
