In un bosco di pensieri
E si toccano si scambiano il domani
Salendo sopra i rami il mondo sembra aprirsi
E qualche cosa semrpe c'è da dirsi
E credo a tutti i miei domani
Divise i miei pensieri
E credo a tutti i miei domani
The lyrics of Gianna Nannini's "Io E Bobby McGee" describe a sense of connection and understanding between two individuals, or "solitude" as they meet in a "forest of thoughts." They touch and exchange their visions of tomorrow, feeling like the world is opening up as they climb up the branches. There is always something to say, and they both share their stories, finding common ground in the same roads they take to "leave." Bobby, in moments of sadness, tightly holds the singer's hands, bringing her comfort. Despite this, she asks for nothing more. She believes in all her tomorrows, valuing them more than a single yesterday.
The song expresses an encounter with Bobby for the first time, although it feels as if they have always known each other. From the smell of the fields to the awakening of the earth, the wind becomes a caress in their breath. It resembles the first dream of someone who has stopped suffering and can finally go mad in peace. When the singer met Bobby, he divided her thoughts and told her to sleep without worries. It was the first time she fell asleep and woke up next to someone.
Overall, the song portrays a deep connection, understanding, and affection between the singer and Bobby McGee. It highlights the comfort and support they provide to each other, allowing them to believe in a brighter future while cherishing the present moment.
