After high school, Glenn began recording demos and performing at nightclubs, eventually becoming a respected act in Toronto. He parlayed this success into the release of his first single, "The Thing To Do," in 1998 on Beat Factory/BMG. The song won him a Juno Award for Best R&B Recording. His second single, "Bout Your Love," earned him a Juno nomination.
This exposure eventually landed him a deal with Epic Records. Glenn's debut album, World Outside My Window, was released on March 19, 2002. Fueled by the hit single "Don't You Forget It," the album peaked at #4 on the Billboard charts. He promoted the album by touring with R&B singers Alicia Keys and Tweet, among others.
In 2002, Lewis recorded a cover version of "Superstition" for the tribute album, Conception: An Interpretation of Stevie Wonder's Songs. Glenn also makes a brief appearance in the 2002 film Maid in Manhattan starring Jennifer Lopez and Ralph Fiennes. He contributed the song "Fall Again" to the film's soundtrack. A concert DVD, Glenn Lewis Live, was released in 2003.
Glenn prepared his sophomore album, Back For More for release in 2003. The first single, also titled "Back For More," and featuring rapper Kardinal Offishall, was released to radio and a video began to air. Unexplicably, the album was pushed back, first to later in the year, then to 2004. It remains unreleased. In the meantime, Glenn netted a Grammy nomination for his contribution to Stanley Clarke's "Where Is The Love", a duet also featuring Amel Larrieux.
Glenn left Epic Records in 2005, and is currently signed to Underdog Entertainment. According to Glenn's MySpace page, a new album, Remember Me, will see release in the spring of 2007.
Glenn Lewis now lives in Los Angeles and is not married but has children, two of them are named Tabias (the youngest), and Xavier.

About this girl I met her name's Yvette that you might know
This girl was bad she left me sad not knowing what to do
She was all wrong for me no matter what had to be free but
She made it seem like she wanted to be with me
Playin' tricks on me tell me
(Is it true?)
(Is it true?)
My man said he hit it too, tell me
(Is it true?)
You've only like me for what I can do
(Is it true?)
You're not feelin' me like I'm feelin' you
Even though I try I can't deny
Way she look making me weak
But word is she's a freak
Things I heard man I could hardly speak
They say don't believe everything you hear
So what the deal my dear
I gotta know the way to go
And how to deal with this right here
(Is it true?)
The things that people say you do
(Is it true?)
My man said he hit it too, tell me
(Is it true?)
You've only like me for what I can do
(Is it true?)
You're not feelin' me like I'm feelin' you
(Is it true?)
Tell me baby
What you said to your girl friend
Tell me is it true
(Is it true?)
Is it true, is it true
(Is it true?)
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Caught up witcha never pictured things'd ever ended up this way
With the games you play
Had me believing only scheming in the end was just to get your way
Still I need to hear you say
(Is it true?)
Tell me is it true, is it true
(Is it true?)
Are you lying to me baby yeah
(Is it true?)
He did right, he did right
(Is it true?)
(Is it true?)
The things that people say you do
(Is it true?)
My man said he hit it too, tell me
(Is it true?)
You've only like me for what I can do
(Is it true?)
You're not feelin' me like I'm feelin' you baby tell me
This ain't right have me hangin on
Say you ever won't baby
Oh yeah is it true? Is it true? Is it true
Tell me you've got me here inside information
In Glen Lewis's song Is It True, he tells a story of a girl named Yvette who left him feeling hurt and confused. He opens with describing how just recently, he met this girl. Although initially enchanted with her looks and company, things went downhill quickly when he discovered that she was not the right person for him. Despite this, Yvette kept leading him on, making him believe that they had a chance to be together. The chorus asks her if the rumors about her untrue behavior are accurate, hinting that he's not sure what to do. Lewis is caught up in his infatuation with her at the same time as he distrusted her.
As the song progresses, the listener gets an insight into the struggles that Lewis learned about Yvette as she kept disguising her real truth. Yvette is captivating, but the rumors of her promiscuity and callousness make him hesitant, and he questions her intentions. Lewis knows that now is the time to get to the bottom of this and find out what she wants. He vents his thoughts and vulnerability, asking her to come clean and tell him what is going on with her. With an open heart, Lewis asks for the truth, hoping for a genuine answer that could help him make up his mind about what next.
The song begins and ends with the same question "Is it true?" bringing a central theme of the song, which suggests that rumors are mostly untrue or exaggerated, and one cannot trust everything they hear. As he asks the question, Glenn Lewis questions how to move forward with his relationship and how reliable Yvette is.
