Glen Vella debuted in the Maltese selections for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 with the song "Appreciate". He tried to win the competition another 3 times with no luck. One of these times was part of the group Q in 2009, where they came in 3rd place. Glen came closest to winning in 2010 when he came in second place with his entry "Just A Little More Love".
In 2011, Glen participated in the Maltese national selection; Malta Eurosong 2011 to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany in May 2011. Making it from the semi-final in to the final, Glen won the right to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011.
