Glitterer was born in 2017 and have released two EPs Glitterer and Not Glitterer. The debut full-length Looking Through the Shades was recorded in the cozy carpeted basement of the Russin family home, in Kingston, Pa., and co-produced by indie-rock prodigy Alex Giannascoli (also known as (Sandy) Alex G) and the Arthur Rizk (Code Orange, Power Trip, Sumerlands, the 2018 Grammy Awards). The album contains Glitterer's best-yet sonics and songs; it has been constructed in such a way as to evince a spirit - co-operative, semi-schizophrenic, greater than the sum of its parts - that is proper to rock bands and that is inaccessible to even the least self-involved Soundcloud rappers and bedroom artists. Simply put, Looking Through The Shades is the sound of a group of people playing music, together, in a room. Meanwhile, the lyrics are still reluctantly but rigorously self-aware, the choruses are still habit-formingly catchy, and the arrangements still carry not an ounce of excess fat. (Broadway World)

Anxious Eyes
Glitterer Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Sit and wait
Sit and wait Sit and wait
For our day
It's not today
We sit and wait
Sit and wait
I'm not afraid
But here I am
Looking Through The Shades
I'm not sure of what I'll find
But here I am
Peaking through the blinds
Peaking through the blinds
Unveil a world that looks the same
Wasn't there something that was meant to change?
The lyrics to Glitterer's song Anxious Eyes reflect the feeling of restlessness and anticipation of something greater. The repetition of "sit and wait" implies a sense of stagnation and waiting for a momentous occasion that has yet to arrive. The line "I'm not afraid" could signify that one is ready for any upcoming challenge or opportunity. The singer is looking through the shades, indicating a desire to see what's beyond their current situation. The line "peaking through the blinds" implies a sense of caution and apprehension as one is hesitant to fully expose themselves to the world.
The second verse starts with uncertainty as the singer admits, "I'm not sure of what I'll find." Despite this, they continue to peek through the blinds, hoping to unveil something new. However, the world they see looks the same as before, leading them to question if anything was meant to change. This line emphasizes the frustration and disappointment of waiting for something that doesn't seem to come. Perhaps the repetition of "sit and wait" serves as a reminder that sometimes change takes patience, and one must continue to wait and search for it.
Overall, the lyrics of Anxious Eyes reflect the common experience of feeling stuck or unfulfilled, while searching for something greater. The song's repetitive nature underscores the frustration and uncertainty of this feeling. However, the line "I'm not afraid" provides a sense of optimism and determination, suggesting that there's always hope for change.
