1) Gloss, stylized as GL… Read Full Bio ↴There are at least four bands called Gloss.
1) Gloss, stylized as GLOSS, is a three member bi-racial, bi-lingual girl group under FRESH AND KILLA from BCDMG. The members are Lil Domi, Kemy Doll and SAKURA.
They made their debut with their first single (Big Mad) on April 11, 2018.
2) Gloss were a Liverpool-based indie-pop band that released one album in 2001.
The group's multi-national line-up included Paul Cavanagh (guitar), Martin Lynch (bass), Paul Maguire (drums), Jonas Theis (keyboards) and Heidrun Anna (vocals). They wrote and recorded songs that are timeless pop - rich in melody and drawn from influences such as The Beach Boys, Burt Bacharach, Television, Stereolab, Barry White, Carole King, Blondie, Françoise Hardy, Air and Madonna.
The nucleus of the band were Cavanagh and the alluring Heidrun Anna. She was the band's lyricist and melody arranger, and together they combined forces to weave these elements into song form. The pair met in Liverpool in 1998 where Heidrun had studied at the Liverpool Institute Of The Performing Arts (LIPA). She became involved in the city's close knit music scene and inevitably the two began to work together. Via Paul came Martin Lynch and Paul Maguire (former drummer with Liverpool faves The Stairs) - whilst Jonas Theis, a classically trained pianist, completed the line-up having originally known Heidrun at LIPA where he too was studying.
On the strength of a three song demo, Gloss were signed to Nude Records. They released two singles in the UK - "Lonely In Paris" and "New York Boy" - but their album was only commercially released in Japan, as Nude folded in January 2002 before the planned UK release date.

3) gloss (from Krefeld/Germany) somewhere in nowhereland between Cocteau Twins, Cardigans and Portishead ... "
Gloss are Mike Pelzer (guitars, piano, harmonia) from M.walking on the water, Lima Peru (vocals), Axel Ruhland (violin), Frank Bruns (drums) and Lars Dannenberg (bass)

4) Gloss began in 2012 as the project of Jeff Cornell, Sean Neppl, and Jackson Woolsey. Growing up together in suburban Minnesota, these longtime friends gravitated towards Sean’s parents’ basement, fleshing out early tracks that would later become part of the their first EP, Between Themselves.
Gloss have moved forward by looking backwards, adding Emmy Carter on synths and Josh Olson on drums. Digging deeper into their influences has recast the band as post-punk vanguards and goth classicists, without shedding their gauzier tendencies.
Contrast is found between and within Gloss songs. Guitars and keyboards occupy both crystalline and murky textures. Drums range from open and floating to tight and driving. Vocal duties are shared between Cornell and Woolsey, who both move between commanding and restful deliveries. The division of labor within their songs lends to Gloss’ cohesion.
Diversifying their subject matter has allowed Gloss to further challenge their songwriting abilities. While still retaining the emotional yearning of their early efforts, Gloss has been able to shed light on other affairs: Modern day urban renewal, historical erasure, and economic insecurity.
On And On
Gloss Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
All through a summer night
Time goes by, Oh how it flies
The memories of crazy nights
Did the feeling grow
Feeling high and low
You didn't want to change
You're poisoned by a fairy tale
Stolen from your sleep
Stolen from your destiny
[Chorus:]
On and on
For more and more
Heaven is a place for no-one or everyone
On and on
For more and more
Heaven is a place for no-one or everyone
Remember when we used to say
Our ways should never part
I thought you were the one
But now thoose days are gone
Now we're running out of time
Who knows the reason why
And I hear you say
The things I said today
You didn't want to change
You're poisoned by a fairy tale
Stolen from your dreams
Stolen from your destiny
[Chorus:]
On and on
For more and more
Heaven is a place for no-one or everyone
On and on
For more and more
Heaven is a place for someone else
Heaven is a place for no-one else
Heaven is another place for you and me
On and on
For more and more
Heaven is a place for no-one or everyone
On and on
For more and more
Heaven is a place for someone else
Heaven is a place for no-one else
Heaven is another place for you and me
The lyrics of the song "On And On" by Gloss portray the feelings of regret and lost love. The song reminisces about the summer nights spent lying side by side and the memories of crazy times. The singer wonders if those memories were just a dream or if the feelings they once had for each other truly grew. The lyrics suggest that the other person did not want to change and was too caught up in a fairy tale stolen from their sleep and destiny.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "On and on, for more and more" and "Heaven is a place for no-one or everyone." The lyrics suggest that the search for more and more, the pursuit of higher and higher goals can be an endless cycle that takes away from the happiness and satisfaction that can be found in simple joys. The concept of heaven is also used as a metaphor for the search for happiness and fulfillment.
The song also touches upon the pain of a lost relationship. The singer remembers when they used to say that their ways should never part and how they thought the other person was the one for them. However, now those days are gone, and they are running out of time. The lyrics do not explicitly state the reason for their split, but the singer hears the other person repeating the things they said today, which suggests that there may have been hurtful words exchanged during their breakup.
Overall, "On And On" by Gloss is a reflection on lost love, regrets, and the endless search for happiness and fulfillment.
