Been misunderstood
I have been misinterpreted and not understood accurately.

Although people know that everyone is struggling, they do not take the time to discuss and address these issues.

You have the power to positively impact someone else's life.

Simple actions like smiling and greeting others can make a big difference in someone's day.

We could come together, we could find some common ground to walk
If we work together and look for similarities instead of differences, we can find ways to connect and support each other.

I never really fit in with the popular ones
I did not belong in the popular group or crowd.

And even all my friends were always sorta dodgin' me some
Even my friends were not fully accepting or inclusive of me.

So I go for overwhelmed and unprepared
I tend to feel overwhelmed and unprepared in certain situations.

To feelin' like nobody's even there
There are times when I feel alone and like nobody cares.

As I make progress and strive for success, others watch and judge me.

I never really thought that you would care
I did not expect you specifically to care or take interest in me.

I think it's time that I mention
I believe it is important to bring up and address something.

That we need to drop this tension
We need to let go of any negative feelings or conflict.

And start to find our connections
We should focus on finding ways to connect and relate to each other.
