Too Busy Thinking About My Baby

I ain't got time to think about
Money or what it can buy
And I ain't got time to sit down and wonder
What make the birdies fly.
And I don't have time to think about
What makes the flowers grow,
To where the rivers flow.
And I ain't got time for nothin' else.
Now I ain't got time to discuss the weather,
And how long it's going to last
And I ain't got time to do no studying
Once I get out of class.
I'm telling you I'm just a fellow with a one track mind,
And when it comes to thinkin' about
Anything but my baby,
I just don't have the time.
Oh yeah
And I ain't got time for nothin' else.
Don't you know I, I'm thinking about my baby
I ain't got time for nothin' else
Yeah the world could ever match her wealth,
She's some kinda wonderful,
Got heaven right here on earth
'Cause I'm just a fellow with a one track mind
And when it comes to thinkin about
Anything but my baby,
I just don't have the time
I'm too busy thinkin' about my baby
Oh I ain't got time for nothin' else
Too busy thinkin' about my baby
Ain't got time for nothing else
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
I ain't go, I ain't got no time
The lyrics to Goldee Heart's "Too Busy Thinking About My Baby" speak to a level of focus and devotion that is often only reserved for love. The singer begins by saying that they have no time to think about money or material possessions, nor do they care to contemplate the mysteries of nature, such as what makes birds fly or why flowers grow. They simply don't have the space in their minds for such things, as their thoughts are consumed with their lover.
The singer then goes on to say that they don't have time for other people's idle chatter or for anything that would distract them from their beloved. They have a "one track mind" and all of their mental energy is focused on their partner. In their eyes, their lover is the most valuable thing in the world, and they feel like they have everything they need when they are with them. This kind of single-minded focus and devotion is both admirable and somewhat obsessive, depending on how you look at it.
Overall, the lyrics to "Too Busy Thinking About My Baby" are about the power and intensity of love, and how it can take over one's entire being to the point where nothing else seems to matter.
