Pipes had all froze
Couldn't feel my toes or my nose
Hey, let me tell ya, it was cold
Ain't no lie
Thought I'd die
Thermometer read eight degrees outside
First thing you do is try to stay calm
Don't be alarmed there's water in the pond
We can do the dishes and clean the laundry to
Ain't got no time for them old house winter blues
Ain't got no time for them old house winter blues
I could still see my breath
While I was making breakfast
Man, it was chilly
Grabbed up my coat and hat
Gathered up some strength
Said a little prayer and gave a lot of thanks
It could be a whole lot worse
My ass could be on fire
Then what would we do
I'd be through
We'd have to call the fire department to come put me out
We Ain't got no water
Mmmmm, doube wammy
Down at the water hole bustin up that ice
Trying my hardest not to fall in and drown
I'm already over my head, but still refuse to lose
Ain't got no time for them old house winter blues
Ain't got no time for them old house winter blues

What a character actor/singer Jim was, eh? He had a marvelous singing voice!
I remember an episode of GP USMC, where he sang Oh, My Papa, and showed his real singing talents on TV. We all loved Gomer. Thanks for posting! He's up there with Festus (Ken Curtis) in Gunsmoke, who sang so well in real life but talked such pigeon English in the series! Thanks again! I want to see/hear Jim singing in his "good voice" sometime, hm? What d'ya say?

It's a good thing this was done in an upbeat style with Jim singing his "Gomer" voice, 'cause if it had been done slowly with him singing in his Jim Nabors voice, I'd be settin' here squawlin'!
