Gogo Yubari
Good Tiger Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

An exhilarating way with words
Willing to trade a meal for meaning
A proper feed for some reading
Deny the hunger, feast on what's inside the mind

How is it being uninformed
You make it clearly intentional
Seldom felt that learning
Move away from the charring
Was anything but mind-controlling

A proper feed for some reading
Deny the hunger, feast on what's inside the mind

How is it being uninformed
You make it clearly intentional

Let's build up a tolerance to history
Don't give up your future chapters
What dictates the gospel in your mind
What dictates the gospel, just leave it
Remain blameless, the glass you view speaks volumes
Let's build up a tolerance to history
Don't give up your future chapters
What dictates the gospel in your mind
This is exhilarating

How is it being uninformed
You make it clearly intentional

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Good Tiger's song "Gogo Yubari" touch upon the theme of intellectualism and seeking knowledge. The opening lines of the song praise the power of words and the ability to exchange a meal for something more substantial, like reading material that can feed the mind. The lyrics emphasize the idea of denying hunger for the body and instead feasting on what's inside the mind. The lines that follow ask the question of how one can purposely remain uninformed, implying that it's a choice to not seek out knowledge and information intentionally.

The second verse speaks to the idea of breaking from conformity and challenging preconceptions. The notion of "building up a tolerance to history" is employed here, suggesting that it is important to learn from the past, but not let it dictate one's future. The lyrics suggest that the gospel or the beliefs one holds should not be set in stone, but rather be kept open to change, growth and evolution.

Overall, the song encourages the listener to embrace education, intellectualism, and keep an open mind in a world where information is readily available.

@Tarkess

Agreed. Love the first two albums but this just seems like they're gelling more as a group, whether it's true or not I have no idea but that's how it feels. This is their best album yet and there's still more tracks left!

@ryanguenther7497

I didn't think they could get much better after the first two albums. I would agree, they have really come into their own with this one. Fucking perfect.
