Not Over Yet
Grace Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'd die for you
Do what you want me to
I'd cry for you
My tears will show
That I can't let you go
[Chorus]
(You still want me don't you)
It's not over, not over, not over, not over yet
(Cos I can see through you)
It's not over, not over, not over, not over yet
(You still want me don't you)
It's not over, not over, not over, not over yet
(Cos I can see through you)
It's not over, not over, not over, not over yet
It's not over, not over, not over, not over yet
Don't get me down
Don't make a sound
Don't throw it all away
Remember me
So tenderly
Don't let it slip away
[Chorus x2]
It's not over, not over, not over, not over yet
Grace’s song Not Over Yet portrays a relationship that has come to a brink of ending but the singer refuses to let it die. In the first verse, Grace declares her willingness to do anything for her lover, even crying for them, which showcases that she is really invested in the relationship. The chorus then emphasizes that the relationship is not over yet, and the singer affirms that she can see through her lover’s actions that they still want her. The repetition of “not over yet” implies a sense of determination and persistence in pursuing the relationship. The second verse then pleads her lover to not give up and remember her emotionally while also not giving up on her. The song ends on the same chorus where Grace persists on the relationship not being over yet.

I remember sitting in the back of a car, coming back from a club,in the nineties on E ,listening to this tune and feeling the emotions of a whole lifetime in one moment and looking into a friend's eyes knowing they were feeling the same thing ! Beautiful, heavenly days, reminiscing is almost painful, because it all meant so much.
