The … Read Full Bio ↴Graham Colton Band is an American rock band from the southwest.
The band was formed by singer Graham Colton when he began writing and singing songs in his dorm room at Southern Methodist University.
Colton's solo acoustic songs wound up on the Internet and a self-titled album soon followed. The band's debut album found their way to the Counting Crows, who asked them to open for them on their 2002 fall tour. Following that tour, many other bands asked the Graham Colton Band to open for them, including Maroon 5, John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, Kelly Clarkson, Better Than Ezra and Guster.
In May 2004, the band released their first major label album, Drive. The band has been touring for 3 almost years non-stop since then. After that period Graham Colton decided to quit the band and started a solo career.

and so do you
theres one in every crowd now
boo hoo
aw' shes the kind of girl that wears gucci panties
drives a brand new car
loves to go tanning
oh yea, well i'd like to see you prove it
-chorus-
i guess the stories are true
she only cares about
whats in my bank account
oh girl if you only knew
how much your missing out
how much your missing out
boo hoo
boo hoo
she doesn't party at all
not even prom night
she'd rather have a coke
than a cools light
always reminds you of the labels shes wearing
looks you up and down
has a problem with staring
i wish i could take you and sit you down
and take off your snotty little upperclass crown
-chorus-
i guess the stories are true
she only cares about whats in my bank account
oh girl if you only knew
how much your missing out
how much your missing out
boo hoo
boo hoo
you dont know how much your missing out
boo hoo (repeat 4 times)
boo hoo
boo hoo
boo hoo
boo hoo....
The Graham Colton Band's song "Boo Hoo" is a biting critique of a specific type of self-absorbed person who is only interested in money and material possessions. The song starts by acknowledging that "we" all know this type of person - the kind of person who wears expensive clothes and flaunts their money and possessions. In the chorus, the singer reflects on how pitiful it is that this person only cares about money, and how much they're missing out on in life by focusing on such shallow things. The song ends with the repeated refrain "boo hoo," a sarcastic expression of sympathy for this person who is so obsessed with wealth and status.
The verses of "Boo Hoo" provide a detailed portrait of this person the singer is critiquing. They wear expensive Gucci underwear, drive a new car, and love to show off their tan. They claim to have more money than they know what to do with, but the singer challenges them to prove it. This person is extremely concerned with appearances, constantly reminding others of what labels they're wearing and looking people up and down. However, the singer sees right through their shallow behavior and expresses a desire to take them down a peg.
