Personally, in my mind, Perrim is a digital world like well the digital world in Digimon. My guess it was created and developed by the Code Masters.

However, the world having sentient complex life was not intended. It just happened. What more, the world had developed its own history, with location, magic, and creatures the Code Masters could have never imagined or programmed.

They first went in as explorers and discovered the fascinating and dangerous world they had created. Only to later come out and see that time runs linear with the real world, so they had to make it the a virtual copy of you goes inside and the real you in the real world. Also so that the mind doesn’t get lost.

Next, since the world was first developed as a game, they were able to analyze and collect data by scan gear, creatures, and locations. Which after years of doing this, they had gathered enough data to create a card game out of it. And then later, with the money they gained from it’s popularity, developed the online game. Then finally create a real world scanned that would scan a person and take them into Perrim.

The Code Master are always watching and exploring. Likely their are multiple one who in the monitoring the player and others scouting the lands. And we never see them because they look like player, change their appearance, or are in locations so far away that the only way to get there, is by winning a scan from a Code Master.

I thought Prexxor Chasm is a location isolated from the know world. Most likely in a region who borders are impossible to break though due to harsh terrain, creatures, or even weather. And only Code Master were able to breach by using gear or finding the one opening that is created due to a natural phenomenon that happens once a month or something.

This is just stuff that been in my mind for years now. Until the game returns, no of this is true. But also not true. Unless the creator says otherwise.

Did you already realize that this chapter intelligently solves what happened in The CodeMaster Chronicles Part 2? Where Tom has his final battle against Cromaxx in Prexxor, the place was in the middle of an earthquake, and in this chapter Smildon mentions that one day the earth shook worse than ever, the same day that thing came from underground, which means that Crellen scanned the Prexxor the same day the plague emerged from under the ground. It's those kinds of subtle details that blow your mind in a good way.

I noticed that too upon fully realizing it; Code Master Krellan was in Prexxor Chasm when that earthquake occurred and when Tom meets Smildon, he informs him that one day the ground shook worse than ever and something crawled out of the ground.

This was such a fantastic episode because it humanized creatures more than any other. Players can port in and out whenever they feel like it, but creatures are trapped in Perim forever. It's not a game to them, it's survival and man did I feel bad for Smildon when he said he had to fight every day just to live.

They should have made Chasm quest into a two-part episode. Part two would be exactly like blight fight except tom wouldn't use the robot from Gigantempopolis since that wasn't shown until season 2. Instead, Tom would use the viledriver. So there would be no need for blight fight. The reason I’m saying this is because I like the blight’s original design better. Season 2’s design was terrible.

I feel like the episode where Tom met Maxxor the first time did that as well. Maxxor criticizes Tom and Chaotic players as a whole that they don't actually understand the troubles of Perim. That it wasn't a game to him or any of the other creatures. Their war was real and it's stressful, fighting almost everyday. Of course Tom did know that but never understood the depths of what he was saying until Kaz was nearly killed.

@Jake Voronkov private matches, even solo can be viewed by anyone. In the very beginning, Tom's friends just watched him as blazer get coded from his fall and even when tom and Kaz used zalek to find Maxxor when he was hit with decomposition. Thier match was public to everyone.
There is no private matches, even if you wanted.

Even the 105 vs 105 megamatch was there for anyone too see.

Using the beta drome is actually pretty risky because you can end up revealing secrets in the location.
Even exploring locations is public to view.

Personally, I think the Scavenger Scan somehow turned into a date for Tom and Sarah. Some people believe Tom has a crush on Sarah, just as I believe Maxxor and Intress have a thing too.

And they act like friends too and have moments where they poke jabs at each other, tease one another, small little things like that. A couple episodes before this one they were swimming to an island and Kaz was complaining that he had cramps and Sarah teased him for it. At the end of the same episode Tom tried dragging them into another island adventure and they tossed him in water but you can see on his face as he went down he was smiling knowing what his friends' reaction was gonna be.

I always loved the inner monologue the players have when they choose their cards. Especially In the larger fights of 6-10, but even Payton and Tom using one creature each is still interesting. Their thoughts on picking battle gear, creatures and mugic is a really nice touch to the battles. The thought process behind it just always intrigued me.

I really liked this episode because it was the first time we see in a drome match that the players stopped fighting each other and tried to attack the blight, adds neat litte worldbuilding to chaotic

You know, Prexxor Chasm with that disease, could make a great idea for a short timed battle. Players have little time to defeat one another, until they have no choice but to team up against the monster, and see who will survive.

There is a way Tom could get Smildon out of the chasm but it would be a real roll of the dice, he could bring him a flux bauble and just flux around until he is somewhere relatively safe.

@Sam Van Roon yeah almost all the locations the codemasters have are extremely dangerous and far locations. Some are so discreetly hidden you either have to be lucky or follow someone to find jt. A good example was iparru forest and iparru himself.
Kaz already mentions that despite being a huge underworld fan, he dosnt have a scan of everything as perim is a big planet.
In fact you can scan at a certain tribe territory for years and not scan everything, becasue of the scanners only allowing you to have one scanable at a time.

@YTW While Peyton's M'arrillian friend can send people to other locations it has two main drawbacks in this instance 1.he can only send people to a location and Tom can already reach the Chasm with his scanner 2. He likely needs at least some idea of where to send his target the lost city is one thing, Tom has no idea where Prexor chasm even is in Perim.

@Sam Van Roon thing is that when you flux, its absolutely random. You can flux in the middle of the lava pond or like how peyton and kaz in the middle of the storm tunnels. And besides im pretty sure maxxor could have trusted tom enough to lend him one.
Another thing is that you can only have 1 scan at a time so you need to pick which one you wanna keep.
A good way would be to have kaz with Tom so Tom can get one scan and kaz another

Smildon: one day, the land shook worse than ever before and something came out of the ground. Not a creature, but something.

That could've been how code master Krellan had a location with an earthquake during his final match with Tom; Krellan was likely there when that earthquake occurred and then Tom discovered from Smildon that an unknown thing came out of the ground.

I’ve always wondered how they get the scans in the first place. We know Tom got Prexxor Chasm from Crellen and Crellen got Cromaxx from Prexxor Chasm, but how did Crellen get the location in the first place? By the looks of it, it’s not a very known location especially since codemaster battles are free to review, which means Crellen either has the actual card or he discovered Prexxor Chasm by accident while exploring Perim.

It kind of sucks we only got to see 2 episodes exploring Prexor Chasm and then the show never talks about it again. We didn't get to explore all the different creatures that live there or see Tom using Smildon in a Chaotic match.

It would have been cool and scary if the blight was a virus in game, where if it damages the player. It hurts them for real. Peyton would get hurt and say, "hey i feel this, it actually hurts!" Then would use his song of recovery to heal, then tell tom to run and try to code themselves to get out.

One of the things that pulls on my mind is back when Peyton battled Lulu the loser, it specifically states she can't use her opponents battlegear. Maybe consent matters? I'm pretty sure this happens more than once this season. Wonder if it's a plot hole, or I'm overthinking it.

Something that doesn't get brought up about this episode.
Why doesn't Tom use the location scan more often? It's already a dangerous location that his opponents can easily accidentally kill themselves in, adding the Blight would make it an easy win for any unlucky or unaware opponent

If that was me I would have chosen dractyl instead of blazier, use a flying creature why make it hard than you have to? Plus Payton had the right idea, a torwing, fly all over the place and see it all.

What I don’t get is why didn’t Tom do something like when he got the Drannakis Threshold scan. Sure his friends don’t have Prexxor Chasm scans themselves, but he sure as hell could have just scanned it 3 times and given it to them so he wouldn’t be exploring alone

@DuhThunderFox And I'm guessing that the card game's rules of certain creatures not being able to enter mixed armies isn't a factor in the show because we see creatures with that text on the card in mixed armies in the show such as Heptadd being on HotShot's team with a Mipedian and a Danian in Fire Fighters or Kaz's Chaor being on a team with an Overworlder and a Mipedian in Crash Course.

They're in the Beta Drome. In the show's universe, the same rules don't apply in that Drome because it gives players freedom to do basically whatever they want. They can even use it as training as shown in this episode and Blight Fight where Tom isn't actually in a match when he's scouting Prexxor Chasm.

@Centurion Quincy the most conclusive theory is that if u get killed in perim, you can no longer use the scanner and online deck ever again.
As reggie was locked out of his for a whole month because his chaotic version was imprisoned. So i guess if you die, your account gets frozen forever. And you have to start a new account, but lose the scans and online deck from the previous one. And the fact that the scanners already took your code, you cant go back to perim.
Kaz mentioned that some players never returned after going to prexxor chasm. Meaning that they did die.

Think about the show in context:
Most people won’t be on Chaotic every day.
So being exiled for one day wouldn’t change much.
If you died trying to get a rare scan and ported back immediately, you would already lose the opportunity.
Plus, you are able to just travel perim, so you could just port somewhere close and go back there anyway

No way,
If dying has such a small penalty, then people would do it all the time.
It needs to be more severe.

Maybe 1/2 of all the cards you have will get a 1/4 odds of disappearing.
Meaning you will probably lose 1/8 of all your cards.

It is probably because it is either in the Beta Drome where players can make their own rules, or maybe it works if the players lets you use them.

In a normal drome match, yes. But this is the beta drome. P;layers can pretty much do what they want. Thats why they can just pick and choose any location to battle in.

No, he didn't.
Smeldon mentioned that the blight appeared after the worst quake the chasm ever experienced.
Do you remember the fight cromaxx and maxxor were having in the match, and the location was having a quake. That was the quake smeldon was talking about. It was actually a foreshadow of the blight appearing.
Krellan was also surpised by the quake but was so focused on the match he didnt think about it.

Michael Taylor Kaz never said nobody came out of Prexxor Chasm alive. He just said that no one ever came back with any scans. Only a few players didn't come back at all.

It depends on both the size and distance.
Scan are more quickers if you do it closer because the code is collected much quicker.
Kaz mentioned that if a creature is too big it could take a while to scan when he tried scanning stelgar.
