The two met at a show Steve Stine was playing at in the U.S. They began writing songs back and forth, via email and GrimmStine is the result. The band was formed in 2008, and released an album, the self-titled "GrimmStine", independently the same year.
The band's style is a mix of classic and modern metal to create a CD of great diversity.

Invaded in our home land
As far as you can see
Blue coats taking over
Killing all our creed
And we bleed
Defending our freedom by the birth of rite
There’s no choices, its our way of life
We’ve gotta stand up
Stand here and fight
Straight as an arrow
True to each mark
X2
yeah
The women and the children
No one left alive
The massacre is over
With it all has died
Now we bleed
Blood red fields a way of life
Defending our freedom by the birth of rite
There’s no choices, its our way of life
We’ve gotta stand up
Stand here and fight
Straight as an arrow
True to each mark
X2
Yeah
Straight as an arrow
X4
The lyrics of "Straight As An Arrow" by Grimmstine is a narrative of a war-torn country where the blue coats (assumed as the enemy) invade and take over the land. The singers in the song sing of defending their freedom by using violence as the only option left. The phrase "there's no choices, it's our way of life, we've got to stand up, stand here and fight" emphasizes the fact that a peaceful solution could not be reached, and the only alternative is to fight until the end. As the war progresses, women and children are also affected, and a brutal massacre takes place where everyone, apart from the invaders, is killed. The song's repeating chorus mentions being straight as an arrow, to be true to each mark, possibly giving the idea of being focused on their goal, undeterred.
In essence, "Straight As An Arrow" is a song about war, defending oneself, and the consequences of acts of violence in a conflict. It portrays the harsh reality of having to fight for one's freedom and the decisions one has to make in such circumstances.
