Like the sky before the dawn
Just like the sky before the dawn, when the night is taking its last breaths, things in life may seem uncertain and unclear.

Even though it may seem as though the night has its grip on me, I must have the faith and the hope that daylight will come soon enough.

When the sun and the moon are both visible in the sky, things may not be quite black or white, but are rather gray and uncertain.

My soul has within it the good and the bad, and it is tearing me apart to decide which to embrace and which to deny.

There is within me the worst of what I am capable of, but also the best of what God is capable of doing through me.

My soul is a mixture of saint and sinner, and it makes it difficult to discern which one to choose.

And I pray, You'll end this
I am praying to God to bring an end to this internal struggle and to make it clear which road I need to take.

This is the gray state of confusion and uncertainty that I find myself in.

I'm torn inside my soul tonight
The internal struggle is causing me immense pain and torment.

The dawning day, the dying night
I am waiting for the coming of the day, which signifies the end of the night and the end of the confusion and uncertainty.

Oh rid my soul of twilight
I am asking God to help me escape this gray state of confusion and bring clarity to my soul.

Good I love but evil's done
I am capable of doing good, but sometimes I end up doing wrong and hurting others.

Good intentions come undone
Even when I have the best intentions, sometimes they do not end up producing the desired results.

Good to know I know the One
Despite my flaws and shortcomings, I take comfort in the fact that I know God and he knows me.

Who saved me from myself and
It is only through God's grace and love that I am saved from my own destructive tendencies.

Oh Lord, paint my heart a solid hue
God, I am asking you to make my heart pure and unchanging, just like a solid hue.

The shade of You
I want my heart to be colored with the essence of God, so that my thoughts and actions reflect his character.

Oh Lord, break this dreadful in between
God, I am asking you to put an end to this confusing and uncertain state that I am in.

Inside of me
I am asking God to change me from the inside out and to bring me the clarity and peace that I need.

Oh let it be morning
I am ready for this nighttime of confusion and uncertainty to be over and for a new day of clarity and purpose to begin.

I know the sun is coming up
I have faith and hope that the darkness I am currently experiencing will soon give way to light.

The light is on its way and will soon illuminate the path forward.

Yes the sun is coming up
Without a doubt, the light of a new day will soon dawn and the night of confusion and uncertainty will be left behind.

In me, in me
The hope and faith that the sun is coming up is not outside of me, but rather a part of who I am and who I need to be.
