Founded in 2005 by Manu Ferrón and Juan Rodríguez, aka "J" from succesful spanish indie band "Los Planetas". Other members are guitar player Víctor Lapido ("091", "Lagartija Nick"), bass player Miguel López ("Los Planetas") and Antonio Lomas, drums ("Lapido").
Their first album "Alegato Meridional" (El Ejército Rojo, 2006) is a hymn to the south, the mid-day (slow-tempo) activities and the joy of life. Sung in spanish with a strong accent from their hometown, Granada, the lyrics are mainly simple stories about meeting friends in the street, enjoying lazyness at home and what life is made of under the southern sun, with a common and easy language and a strong influence of their beloved american southern folk and country-ish music.
In that way, Grupo de Expertos Solynieve also covers tracks from other latitudes: "Ballad of the easy Rider" (The Byrds), "Personalitá Empírica" (Franco Battiato), "Déjame vivir con alegría" (Vainica Doble), "Sureños" (Silvio) aswell as many other live performances with songs from Gram Parsons.
Complete tracklist from "Alegato Meridional":

The CD included the Opendisc technology which allowed to connect to the internet and it was possible to download also two extra tracks, "El 11" (with a description of the whole trajectory of the #11 line bus in Granada) and "Reggae-Búho"
"Alegato Meridional" was preceeded by the single "Se ve que hay calidad" (El Ejército Rojo, 2006), including "24 hs al día" and the mentioned Franco Battiato cover, sung in italian and spanish and titled "Personalidad empírica" as B-sides.

por si no me has entendido bien.
The lyrics of Grupo de Expertos Solynieve's song "El Pleito" convey a message of defiance and resistance against external control and manipulation. The singer emphasizes their autonomy and agency, declaring that they will not do as they are commanded but rather follow their own desires and instincts. The lyrics highlight the singer's refusal to negotiate their individuality and authenticity.
The song's narrative takes a turn when the singer confronts someone from a company, accusing them of theft. The response they receive is a recognition of this fact, with the other person indicating that the law is on their side. However, the singer insists on further examination of the situation and decides to express their perspective through the creation of this song. They hope that it will provoke a response and force the other person to reconsider their actions.
Overall, "El Pleito" is about standing up for oneself, questioning authority, and seeking a common ground where both parties can find understanding. It challenges the power dynamics and calls for a resolution based on empathy and mutual respect.

Te lo voy a repetir
I'm going to repeat it to you
por si no me has entendido bien.
in case you didn't understand me well.
Te lo vuelvo a explicar,
I'll explain it to you again,
a ver si te enteras de una vez:
let's see if you understand once and for all:
Que yo no voy a hacer lo que tú me mandes,
That I won't do what you tell me,
yo voy a hacer lo que me salga a mí del alma.
I'm going to do what comes from my soul.
Y eso es algo que no voy a negociar.
And that's something I won't negotiate.
Fui a ver al de la compañía
I went to see the person from the company
y le dije “tú me estás robando”.
and I told him, 'you are stealing from me.'
Él me dijo que ya lo sabía
He told me he already knew
y que la ley estaba de su lado
and that the law was on his side.
Le contesté que eso teníamos que verlo,
I replied that we had to see about that,
así que ahora estoy haciendo esta canción
so now I'm making this song
para ver si alguno de los dos tiene razón
to see if either of us is right
A ver si hoy me devuelves la llamada,
Let's see if you return my call today,
porque creo que yo no te he hecho nada.
because I believe I haven't done anything to you.
Sé que tiene que haber un sitio en el medio
I know there must be a middle ground
donde tú y yo nos podamos entender.
where you and I can understand each other.
Algo en común tendremos que tener,
We must have something in common,
tan discapacitados no podemos ser.
we can't be so impaired.
