Ola de Calor
Grupo de Expertos Solynieve Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

In Grupo de Expertos Solynieve's song Ola de Calor, the lyrics describe a person's feelings in the midst of a heatwave, waiting for a better time to come. The song starts with "Sopla el viento desde el sur, una ola de calor" which means "The wind is blowing from the south, a heatwave." The singer finds himself in August in Granada, with nothing much to do. He feels like he has nothing to lose because he has nothing. He talks to the shadows on the wall as he waits for something to happen.

Y si te vienes, lo guardo todo para ti" means "I will wait for you, talking to the shadows on the wall. If you want to come, I promise to give you everything I have, saved for you. And if you come, I will keep everything for you." The singer is waiting for someone to come and give him a reason to hold on to hope and to believe that there is something better waiting for him.

The lyrics of Ola de Calor paint a picture of a person who is tired of waiting and hoping for a better life, but is still holding on to the belief that things will eventually get better. The song tells us that even in the darkest times, there is always hope and love waiting for us.
