Debajo de esas dos cejas
Debajo de esas dos cejas
Que bonitos ojos tienes
Ellos ye quieren mirar
Pero si tú no los dejas
Pero si tú no los dejas
Malagueña salerosa
Besar tus labios quisiera
Besar tus labios quisiera
Malagueña salerosa
Y decirte niña hermosa
Que eres linda y hechicera
Que eres linda y hechicera
Como el candor de una rosa
Si por pobre me desprecias
Yo te ofrezco razón
Yo te ofrezco razón
Si por pobre me desprecias
Malagueña salerosa
Besar tus labios quisiera
Besar tus labios quisiera
Malagueña salerosa
Y decirte niña hermosa
Que eres linda y hechicera
Que eres linda y hechicera
Como el candor de una rosa
Como el candor de una rosa
The lyrics of Gypsy Queens' song Malagueña tell the story of a man who is admiring the beauty of a woman in Malaga. He comments first on her eyes, describing them as beautiful, and notes that he wants to look at them but cannot if she doesn't let him. He then goes on to express his desire to kiss her lips but also tells her that she is beautiful and enchanting like the innocence of a rose. The man then addresses the woman and tells her that if she rejects him because he is poor, he is willing to give her a reason to change her mind.
The song's emotional depth and longing for love are conveyed through the use of the traditional Spanish "Malagueña" rhythm, which is a type of Flamenco music with an unmistakably passionate tone. The lyricism and rhythm blends together to make this song a beautifully melancholic love letter, overflowing with feelings of desire, hope, and anticipation. It has become a beloved classic in Latin music and has been sung by many artists, including Los Lobos, Ernesto Lecuona, and Pedro Infante, among others.

Cresci ouvindo meu tio Toninho tocando violão e cantando essa música. Era carro chefe dele. E o danadinho cantava muito bem. Boas lembranças.
