The persona threatens to break the other person down, to ensure there is nowhere to run or hide. There's no time to restore the relationship, and the persona wants to take the easy way out. They are warning the other not to get in their way, or they'll break them down again today.
The song is quite intense and quite deep, and it touches on the theme of vulnerability and strength in one's weakest moments. It speaks of the persona's desire for control and for the other person to understand the magnitude of their situation. The light in their shine may have dimmed, but they are still shining bright like a supernova.
