I have inner demons that are pushing me to speak out and express myself.

I rely on these demons to help me find the words to say what I want.

These demons can be difficult to control and often have a negative and aggressive energy.

Ignite me, licking up the flames they bring about
Even though they can be destructive, these demons also have the power to fuel my creativity and drive me forward.

I have made a deal with someone or something that I now feel trapped by.

And he told me I was holy
This person or thing may have convinced me that I am special or important.

He's got me down on both knees
This person or thing has control over me and has forced me into submission.

But it's the devil that's tryna
The person or thing that I made a deal with is actually a negative force in my life, like the devil.

Saying that I want more, this is what I live for
I am addicted to this feeling of being under someone or something's control, even though it may not be good for me in the long run.

Selfish, taking what I want and call it mine
I am aware that I am acting selfishly and taking what I want without regard for others.

I'm helpless, clinging to a little bit of spine
Despite my awareness of my selfishness, I feel powerless to change it and am barely holding onto any sense of moral backbone.

They rush me, telling me I'm running out of time
Outside forces are pressuring me to take action and make changes in my life.

They shush me (sssh), walking me across a fragile line
Even though these forces are pushing me, they are also trying to silence my inner demons and keep me from straying too far into destructive behavior.

I am asking for this negative force in my life to continue to control me, even though it may not be good for me.

Sneaking out the back door, make no sound
Despite my desire for this negative force to hold me down, I sometimes try to escape it.

Throw me in the deep end, watch me drown
When I do try to escape, I often end up in even deeper trouble and feel overwhelmed.

Hold me down now
I am again asking for this negative force to continue to control me and keep me in check.
