Be Still
Hang on St. Christopher Lyrics
I took you to the ocean for the first time
I love all the memories with you
You fill every space up with your light
In every heart and room
I wish you could see all that you've done
All the things you've achieved
I hope you know that you're enough
And we're so lucky, you and me
Oh, things change, people come and go
But I'll stay, my heart is your home
It's okay, year after year
I'll still be here
I'll still be here
You've spent twenty-seven Years learning new things
Letting the world into your heart
Becoming an incredible person
And finding out just who you are
And I know sometimes you have that feeling
That everything could come falling down
But you're not alone when you're struggling
I'll be by your side to help you turn around
Oh, things change, people come and go
But I'll stay, my heart is your home
It's okay, year after year
I'll still be here I'll still be here
I love all the memories with you
You fill every space up with your light
In every heart and room
I wish you could see all that you've done
All the things you've achieved
I hope you know that you're enough
And we're so lucky, you and me
Oh, things change, people come and go
But I'll stay, my heart is your home

I'll still be here I'll still be here

This is the first Tom Waits song I ever heard, back in '87/'88 when this album came out. Was impressed that it was included, a short time later, in the soundtrack of a "21 Jumpstreet" soundtrack.
Maaaaaaaaaaaaaan, now I want to be 21 again for a hot minute, just so I can hear this as the closer for a really great college mixer or party. And then go out for pancakes at about 4 am.
