Harts' music has been described as dance-oriented Alternative Rock and Electro Indie.
Harts' first release, a teaser track and demo titled Back to the Shore, was released on iTunes on 19 August 2010 through Australian independent A&R company, The A&R Department, headed by former Warner Music A&R Manager, Matt O'Connor.
A newer version of the track, which was mixed by Lars Stalfors of The Mars Volta, now appears on the internet.
Harts is currently working on releasing a debut EP planned for release early 2012.

Red and Blue
Harts Lyrics

Sad look upon my face
Says I don't know what to do
Red and blue here in my place
Sad look upon my face
Don't know what to do
The sad look upon my face
Says I don't know what to do
Red and Blue here in my place
Sad look upon my face
Don't know what to
I don't know what to, I don't know what to do
Music's good here in my home
The world turns a cold shoulder
I guess I'll never know
Red and blue here in my place
The sad look upon my face
I don't know what to
I don't know what to, I don't know what to do
Umm, come on! Umm
The repeated lines of "red and blue here in my place" along with the sad look upon the singer's face suggest a sense of confusion and conflicting emotions. Perhaps they symbolize opposing forces or choices, such as love and hate, joy and sadness, or right and wrong, that are causing the singer to feel stuck and indecisive. The repeated line of "I don't know what to do" reinforces this feeling of helplessness and uncertainty.
Despite this internal struggle, the singer finds solace in music. The line "music's good here in my home" implies that while the outside world may be cold and unforgiving, their inner world can be a warm and healing place. However, the juxtaposition of the comforting music with the lines about not understanding the world suggests that even the joy of music isn't enough to completely ease the singer's inner turmoil.
Overall, the lyrics of "Red & Blue" convey a sense of internal conflict and the struggle to find a sense of direction in life amidst opposing forces. The repeated refrain of not knowing what to do reflects the sense of confusion and uncertainty that many of us feel at times, while the reference to music as a source of comfort and escape suggests that even amidst difficult times, there can be moments of refuge and peace.
