Influencied by punk rock, hardcore and indie rock, the group tries to keep its own style and to play a very personal music.
Specially in the lyrics, the group shows the real and sincere feelings of daily situations, with a strong emotional content.
That's maybe the reason why they create such a big involvement with their public.
Rodrigo Koala [guitar and vocal], Ricardo di Roberto [drums], and Cesar Santisteban [bass and vocal] gave concerts all over the country, recorded their first demo "Blind Youth" and the first album "Hydrophobia" (Choice Records). In 1996, another guitar player, Boris Fratogianni, joined the group and they recorded, in 1998, the album "Feeling like Nick" (Holiday Records), which is sold out. A few months after, Santisteban left the group and Fernando Sanches [[artist]Dance of Days, Small Talk, Againe, Van Damien, actually CPM 22] took his place.
"Teenage X-Mas Song" was recorded in 2001, in a CD specially made for a Christmas Party at the Hangar 110, a punk rock night-club in Sao Paulo, with the four of them, plus Maurício Takara. The first live album, "More Live Than Dead", was recorded in 2002, at the Hangar 110. The group has also a cover of the American band Husker Dü (Don't Wanna Know if You're Lonely). At the end of 2002, Fernando Sanches has left the group and Andre Abreu (Dé) joined it.
The aim of the group is still the same as it was in the beggining: play as much as possible, at the most different places and keep the integrity of emotion of its music.

Silence Be My Friend
Hateen Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Shadows of the memories You call past
When life became an endless escaape from the lack of you
What should I do?
But be here for you
I'm here for you
I'm choking on the words I want to say
Swallowing everything you said to me
I won't ask you again
You'll never know how it feels
Never know
Silence
Be my friend
Help me to keep
My love away
When it's over ,gone and lost forever
Be my friend
Be my friend
I'm mixing sentences to express the mess inside of me
When you twist my faith with this silent hate
Each time you say no you push me away from hope
Still I miss the desarray in your eyes when you fake
The lyrics of Hateen's song "Silence Be My Friend" depict a situation where the singer is struggling to deal with the memories of a past love. The song begins with an acknowledgement of the pain caused by the absence of the loved one's smile. The shadows of memories and the endless escape from the lack of the loved one are constantly haunting the singer. The lyrics suggest that the singer still cares for the loved one and is willing to be there for him/her. The singer, however, struggles to express his/her feelings, choking on the words that he/she wants to say, and swallowing everything that the loved one has said. The singer is hoping to find a way out of this situation, but he/she won't ask the loved one for help again.
The chorus brings forth the idea of embracing silence as a friend. The singer is asking the silence to help him/her keep his/her love away. The idea behind this line is that by being silent and not trying to reach out to the loved one, the singer hopes to let go of the love and eventually move on. The lyrics suggest that the loved one will never know how the singer feels, and the singer is hoping that the silence will help him/her deal with the pain and eventually find peace.
Overall, the lyrics of "Silence Be My Friend" are reflective of the pain and struggle that comes with letting go of a loved one. The singer is willing to embrace silence as a way of dealing with the situation.
