Headlights Lyrics

On a morning and try
To feel so good
That you didn't realise
And the things they're like
that stop me from crying
but at night
They stop me from crying
I couldn't take up
More space in my mind
There's a back door that isn't easy to find
Because of a call from self-indulgence
We don't need our role
To prove that we're selfish
So can you tell me
That you feel the same
When you stare at all the faces
Full of so much shame
Or is it you're too high
To tell us apart
So you can live your life
And keep up your lying
And I can't even stand to watch the TV
The liars and the killers keep staring at me
And the boys and the girls
And we tell them free
They grow up to destroy
Everything that they see
I can't even stand to watch the TV
The liars and the killers keep staring at me
And the boys and the girls
And we tell them free
They grow up to destroy
Everything that they see
I can't even stand to watch the TV
The liars and the killers keep staring at me
And the boys and the girls
And we tell them free
They grow up to destroy
Everything that they see
In the song "TV," Headlights explores the impact of media on society, and how it affects our ability to feel and empathize with others. The opening lines set the tone for the rest of the song: "You couldn't wake up on a morning and try to feel so good that you didn't realize." This suggests that even when we try to ignore the harsh realities of the world, we can't help but be affected by them. The next lines, "And the things they're like that stop me from crying, but at night they stop me from crying," suggest that while we might try to push our emotions aside during the day, they still haunt us at night.
The second verse continues to explore the idea of how media affects us, with lines like "There's a back door that isn't easy to find/Because of a call from self-indulgence." This suggests that we might be too focused on our own personal pleasures and distractions to notice the negative impact of media on our society. The chorus repeats the line "I can't even stand to watch the TV," emphasizing the overwhelming feeling of helplessness and despair that can come from watching the news or consuming other forms of media.
Overall, the song "TV" is a commentary on the negative effects of media on society, and how it can reduce our empathy and ability to connect with others. It suggests that we need to be more aware of the impact of media on our lives, and work to create a world that is more empathetic and connected.

A breath of fresh air from my hometown. A sweet, catchy tune one doesn't get to hear too much these days. The video was shot in and around Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. An unexpected pleasure.
