Morris's first significant appearance was in 2006 on So You Think You Can Dance Season 2 where she made the "green mile" but failed to make the final 20 by a vote of 3-2. Not discouraged, Morris decided to move to LA and actively pursue a career in dancing. Her big break came in 2007 via Beyoncé. Morris was one of Beyonce's backup dancers on The Beyoncé Experience world tour and, following that, worked again with Beyonce on a mini Single Ladies promotional tour that included 2008 performances on the American Music Awards, Saturday Night Live, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Today Show, and MTV's Total Request Live Finale. She also danced backup for Beyonce and Tina Turner at the 50th Grammy Awards in 2008.
Morris was taking acting classes and actively pursuing an acting career when she was asked by Woodlee to teach the choreography for Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" dance to the Glee actors. At the same time, the show was looking for a third cheerleader, and Morris ended up landing the role of Brittany. Initially a background character who hardly ever spoke, the role grew as writers discovered Morris had a gift for delivering one liners. Jarrett Wieselman of the New York Post opined that Morris has "emerged as one of the funniest second bananas on TV right now" and the LA Times wrote of having a "...comedy crush on Morris, who plays the galactically dim Glee Club cheerleader Brittany".
Due to the positive response of her character in Glee in the second season of the series she will be promoted to a series regular along with fellow cast member Naya Rivera.

I'm calling
A guy like you should wear a warning
It's dangerous
I'm falling
There's no escape
I can't wait
Baby, give me it
You're dangerous
I'm loving it
Too high
Can't come down
Losin' my head spinnin' 'round and 'round
Do you feel me now'
With the taste of your lips I'm on a ride
You're toxic I'm slippin' under
With the taste of the poison paradise
I'm addicted to you, don't you know that you're toxic
And I love what you do, don't you know that you're toxic
It's gettin' late
To give you up
I took a sip
From my devil's cup
Slowly, it's taking over me
Too high
Can't come down
It's in the air it's all around
Oh can you feel me now?
With the taste of your lips I'm on a ride
You're toxic I'm slippin' under
With the taste of the poison paradise
I'm addicted to you, don't you know that you're toxic
And I love what you do, don't you know that you're toxic
Don't you know that you're toxic
With the taste of your lips I'm on a ride
You're toxic I'm slippin' under
With the taste of the poison paradise
I'm addicted to you, don't you know that you're toxic
And I love what you do, don't you know that you're toxic
With the taste of the poison paradise
I'm addicted to you, don't you know that you're toxic
Intoxicate me now
With your lovin' now
I think I'm ready now
I think I'm ready now
Intoxicate me now
With your lovin' now
I think I'm ready now
Intoxicate me now
With your lovin' now
I think I'm ready
I think I'm ready now
The lyrics to Heather Morris's song Toxic speak about being addicted to someone who is dangerous, but instead of wanting to get away from them, the singer embraces it. The line "A guy like you should wear a warning" suggests that the person the singer is addressing is particularly toxic and dangerous, which only seems to strengthen the singer's attraction to them. They know that they shouldn't be with this person, but they can't help themselves. The lines "With the taste of your lips I'm on a ride / You're toxic, I'm slippin' under" further emphasize the singer's addiction to this person, suggesting that even the feel of their lips is intoxicating.
The chorus of the song repeatedly asserts that the singer is addicted to the person they're singing about, saying "I'm addicted to you, don't you know that you're toxic / And I love what you do, don't you know that you're toxic." The singer can't get enough of this person, even though they know it's not healthy. The lines "Too high, can't come down / Losin' my head spinnin' 'round and 'round / Do you feel me now?" suggest that this person has an all-consuming effect on the singer, so much so that they feel dizzy and out of control.
Overall, Toxic is a song about addiction, danger, and the strange allure of toxic relationships. It speaks to the often-complicated nature of attraction and desire, and the way that even the most harmful relationships can be hard to let go of.
