As a 44 yr. old old schooler who grew up on all the classic 80's & 90's REAL hip-hop I must say we have lost a hip-hop legend. Man so much of heavy d's music reminds me of hitting the clubs back in the late 80's & 90's. cats dressed to impress, dancing your asses off. These type of rappers & entertainers are long gone. todays (2000's) materialistic,thugged out, horrible,pre-school rapping clowns have no clue what substance,creativity, & soul means. thank god for the 80's-90's. R.I.P. HEAVY D.

this is the first heavy.d joint i ever heard in 86, and at that time it smashed everything that was about at that time, and still does. a lot of people get rosey specs when they recall the sadly departed, and exagerate their contribution to hip hop, but Heavy D is definately the exception to the rule because he really is that good and his material is as punchy and fresh as if it just rolled off the press today. new school idiots take note, THIS is how you become a legend. I remember when the DJ would play this at The Rooftop everybody would go crazy. I had the pleasure of knowing Heavy D and he was one of the sweetest guys you could ever know. This song brings tears to my eyes.......so many memories 😥 this video came on when I was in the hospital having my oldest son I was 16 then, and also reminds me of good times when my closest cousin were still both in high school 1986 😥 Well I lost her right on this past Christmas day to Lupus with complications from Covid-19 So rest in Peace to my cousin Sonji and Heavy D. 🙏🙏🙏😥❤

Classic old skool joints like this make a brother smile real big. If you didn't grow up on this stuff...you can listen, you can like it, but you can never know the feeling songs like this gave us back then. MC's going for broke, DJ cutting wax like ax murderers, bboys breaking like their lives depended on it and graf artists showcasing that gritty grimy Wild Style that completes the scene. You had to be there.

Yep my 1st Heavy D and the Boyz tune i bought way back in the late 80's. I opened my MSN homepage and saw the headline and it was only the other night i saw his performance on BET hip hop awards and thought wow good to see him on the box again. Shocked and really saddened by his passing, true what they say about living for today..Big tune though respect to the Hackney massive who raved to this one RIP brother Heavy D condolences to his family..

I remember when this was brand spankin new. I will always love this video because, it showed the world that us chunky boys can move on the dancefloor. This is from an era of when hiphop was fun, nobody got hurt from doing stupid stuff and the women didn't dress and shake their asses like they worked in a stripclub. R.I.P. Heavy D basically picked up the Fat Boys' swag and took it to the next level. Back then if you was rockin those Coca-Cola or Benetton shirts with the fat socks, you was FRESH! I remember the first time Brucie B played this at the Rooftop!! The whole spot went crazy. He had to play it back at least 5 times.
