The lyrics in Helloween's "You Run With The Pack" reflect the idea of being trapped in a society where people are restricted by imposed beliefs and regulations. The singer in the song is aware of this game but they feel helpless and trapped as they question how they can get out of it. They are forced to adhere to social norms and charity while being taught to hate and kill their enemies first.
The singer feels like they are in a cage surrounded by foolish people who are constantly telling them how they need to be. They are being destroyed and locked in by this game that they can’t seem to escape. The lyrics "Cry with the wolves, run with the pack,Turn around to save your neck,'cause someone always keeps you in confusion," give us visuals of the singer running in circles with no escape.
The last two stanzas convey the idea that the game that the singer is playing is dangerous, they are juggling on a rope without a net or hope and they can be easily torn apart. They know that taking the needle is a one-way trip without a coming back, but they are still trapped in their illusions.
