Listened again. This is a perfect gem of refined singing. I love it.
opertutto
A treat to hear Herbert Ernst Groh’s charming 78 rpm disc. This piece is a waltz duet with the title "Komm mit mir ins Chambre séparée" although today it is known by the shorter title above. During the 78 days it was recorded in its duet form by Fridel Beckmann and Wilhlem Strienz, and also by Erna Sack and Max Lichtegg. Groh, Richard Tauber, Rupert Glawitsch and Fritz Wolff made 78s in solo arrangements. And in the Lp era the versions by Hilde Gueden and Elisabeth Schwarzkopf popularized it as a soprano solo.

Such a wonderful voice with a timbre and style so similar to Richard Tauber.

Richard Tauber is my favourite tenor but I actually prefer this version of the waltz
song. Herbert Ernst Groh is lilting, smooth and elegant. Thank you for posting
as I went and bought his recordings. Yes, very similar to Tauber. Love both
tenors!
