Sus inicios se remontan a 1995 cuando cuatro amigos se juntan con la idea de hacer música.

Con el paso de los años, la banda ha logrado definir un sonido que la caracteriza y diferencia de las demás bandas de rock uruguayo. Paralelamente a esto, no es solo el sonido característico el que diferencia a esta banda de las demás, sino también su público. Hereford no se ha caracterizdo por ser una banda que mueva masas. Ha logrado, en cambio, un público bastante familiar que se reencuentra en cada show.
