Hezekiah Walker Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

1:
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, so.
Let the redeemed of the Lord, say so.

Sopranos: Made a way...
Altos: made a way...
Tenors: made a way...
All: out of no way.

Sopranos: Made a way...
Altos: made a way...
Tenors: made a way...
All: out of no way.

Sopranos: Made a way...
Altos: made a way...
Tenors: made a way...
All: out of no way.

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.

1:
We get to church and won't raise our hands,
knowing how God brought us through.
I will never be ashamed to stand up and praise His name.

'Cause when I was in sin,
Jesus came and took me in,
picked me up and He turned me 'round,
placed my feet on higher ground.
You don't know like I know what the Lord has done for me,
but if you've got love, peace, and you've been redeemed,
stand up and let, (let the redeemed of the Lord say so).

2:
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, so.
Let the redeemed of the Lord, say so.

Sopranos: Made a way...
Altos: made a way...
Tenors: made a way...
All: out of no way.

Sopranos: Made a way...
Altos: made a way...
Tenors: made a way...
All: out of no way.

Sopranos: Made a way...
Altos: made a way...
Tenors: made a way...
All: out of no way.

(If you've got love, peace, and you've been redeemed),
(stand up and let), let the redeemed of the Lord say so.

2:
It's time for the saints to take a stand,
it's time that we hold our ground.
You can take it but I will not,
I won't take the mess the devil throws down.

Aye bruh, Matthew 25:31-46 warns us about being 'goats'.

31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:

32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

What Hezekiah is singing about is what I have lived. When Jesus redeemed me, EVERYTHING about my life changed! That is the power of the Gospel. It changes your life for the better! πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Finally,...I have been looking for this forever. I remember leading this song in the Albany State Gospel Choir at Bishop Eddie Long's church and he said, 'Did you see her face.' And he called me down and said, 'Now when anybody sings with a face that, they're singing under the anointing'. Then he said, 'Baby don't think I'm calling you ugly. I'm saying the anointing on you is so strong and it's all over you. You keep singing. People going to be saved and delivered through your singing. You got to give us some more of that.' Then asked for an encore. That was an amazing experience and I was so young at the time. That was in the 80's and he was absolutely right. I am living that prophecy right now. Thank you Jesus for those words and this great song. I feel complete now and I will teach this to my choir.
