I mean, did you see how bad her whole school was in auditions?? suddenly 2 students come along who are top notch, in big friend groups, and already have hobbies that are taking up their time. But will they put in the effort of their roles? I mean, it's already proven when Troy missed a class or whatever after months of work to get ready, just to go see his gf. Sharpay is the best character, Troy and his friends did more damage to the musical production than Sharpay ever did. She worked her behind off for it to stay in line. Troy got everything, he never worked for anything, period.
I mean, did or did not Troy's friend literally set up secret cameras and trick Troy to talk crap about Gabriella just so they'd break up. Sharpay got Troy a job, a college, meeting very good players, and such more, all for a dance.

Btw I don't hate Gabriella just to make it clear, I hate Troy and have many reasons too. He was just a bad main character.

I just meant that I like her overall personality type and confidence in herself and her personality. I used to be shamed for being obsessed with pink and very girly things when entering high school and such. As if loving cute and very feminine things, and being confident about it, was seen as sort of a negative thing in the feminist movement. It was more popular for girls then to adapt to more masculine or unisex clothing or interests. So I could sort of relate to Sharpay in that sense, because I still wasn’t ashamed for having girly interests.

I think the reason that ultra-feminine female characters are written as the villain is because I have never seen masculine or Goth girls be able to garner a major following in any environment. From what I've observed in real life, women who decide early on that they want to be the queen understand that they have to be the girl/woman that other females want to be and the girl/woman that men want to sleep with.
