You Are Mine
Himig Heswita Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I will come to you in the silence
I will lift you from all your fear
You will hear My voice
I claim you as My choice
Be still, and know I am here

I am hope for all who are hopeless
I am eyes for all who long to see
In the shadows of the night,
I will be your light
Come and rest in Me

Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine

I am strength for all the despairing
Healing for the ones who dwell in shame
All the blind will see, the lame will all run free
And all will know My name

Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me
I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine

I am the Word that leads all to freedom
I am the peace the world cannot give
I will call your name, embracing all your pain
Stand up, now, walk, and live

Do not be afraid, I am with you
I have called you each by name
Come and follow Me

I will bring you home
I love you and you are mine

I sang this song at my fathers funeral, years late my Mother asked if I could do the same at hers... I did what every music minister was expected, and did my best to focus and not break down in tears.

Your beautiful rendition enabled a son that misses his two parents deeply, to cry and be reminded that they are with our Father.

May they rest in Gods care..Bring us home...🧑

This song was played at my dads funeral this past September and it still makes me cry every time I hear it. I can't imagine being able to sing it. This other song was also played when we walked down with the casket and I lost it at that point. https://youtu.be/2oSiX1WKg4w

@J_Kirch

@cuznred Admittedly it was really tough. Especially the last verse. During communion I did I am the bread of life... couldn't keep it together and everyone saw that I was having a hard time and they really started to belt it out to help carry me through it. It was one of the kindest moments of my life. Afterwords one of my uncles had a conversation about the service with an acquaintence and they commented on the music and were flabergasted that it was the son that was doing the music. I honestly don't beleive I could ever do something like that again.

@cuznred

@J Kirch I am a drummer, and I know that I could not even get through the song as a drummer, much less as a vocalist. I am sorry for your losses, I miss my dad every day.
