Your Soul
Hippie Sabotage Lyrics

Just because we're not alone
You echo words you've heard
You let me go just to watch me discern
Just because it feels the same
'Til the morning comes
Even roads feel the sun so cold
Just because we're not alone
You echo words you've heard
You let me go just to watch me discern
Just because it feels the same
'Til the morning comes
Even roads fill the sun so cold
Just because we're not alone
You echo words you've heard
You let me go just to watch me discern
Just because it feels the same
'Til the morning comes
Even roads fill the sun so cold
Just because we're not alone
You echo words you've heard
You let me go just to watch me discern
Just because it feels the same
'Til the morning comes
Even roads fill the sun so cold
Just because we're not alone
You echo words you've heard
You let me go just to watch me discern
Just because it feels the same
'Til the morning comes
Even roads fill the sun so cold
Just because we're not alone
You echo words you've heard
You let me go just to watch me discern
Just because it feels the same

'Til the morning comes
Even roads fill the sun so cold

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Hippie Sabotage's song "Your Soul" suggest a relationship that lacks depth and authenticity. The first line "Just because we're not alone" sets the tone that this relationship is founded on the fear of being alone rather than a genuine connection. The next line, "You echo words you've heard," implies that one partner is simply repeating phrases or sentiments they have heard elsewhere rather than expressing their true feelings or thoughts. This lack of originality and authenticity is further highlighted in the line "You let me go just to watch me discern," suggesting a dismissive attitude towards the other person's feelings and insights.

The repetition of the lines "Just because it feels the same/Til the morning comes/Even roads fill the sun so cold" emphasizes the cyclical nature of the relationship and the sense of stagnation that comes with it. The phrase "even roads feel the sun so cold" could be interpreted as a metaphor for the feeling of isolation and emptiness that can come with being in a relationship that lacks true emotional intimacy.

Overall, the lyrics to "Your Soul" express a feeling of dissatisfaction and a desire for something more meaningful and genuine in a relationship.

on OVERDRIVE

For myself it’s about the grief of losing my daughter. I stepped into that night I got the call she was dying. I crossed that line. The lonely town is this world without her. The anger in your brow and the pain streaming down is gods anger towards me for letting it alter my attitude towards life. My anger my tempting fate and daring death. See I won’t quit but go ahead. I holding down but no one’s left I’m used to livin in my head all about the grief and life altering tragedy.
