Hollywood Roses, emerged straight out of the gutter of the Sunset Strip in Hollywood, CA, when a group of rock n roll misfits decided that with nothing but dreams and talent, they would capture the intense, raw energy of a by-gone era in Rock N’ Roll, and perfect the power and frenzy of a Guns and Roses show. Now, the band is known worldwide as “The Ultimate Guns n Roses Experience”.
From the non-stop late night parties, chaos filled streets full of tattooed rock fans in band shirts, denim and leather, hot girls in spandex, teased hair and endless oceans of booze and parties, there’s no question why in 1988 Guns n Roses we’re dubbed “The Most Dangerous Band in The World!" They were a reflection of the reckless world of Hollywood Rock, the gasoline for the high octane music that left everyone wanting more and more.
Hollywood Roses lead singer Colby Veil’s incredible likeness to Axl Rose both in appearance as well as vocal prowess helped pave the way for Hollywood Roses to rise up to become “Hollywood’s Best Tribute Band” year after year. The band also includes “ROBO” on guitar as “Slash”, Niki Rott on bass as “Duff”, “Capone” on guitar as “Izzy” and Justin Sandler on drums as “Steven Adler”.
Hollywood Roses have rocked numerous festivals including the inaugural year of “Rocklahoma” (2007), which had record breaking attendance and coverage in every major Rock Magazine Worldwide. Hollywood Roses have toured throughout the US, most notably playing high profile venues in Hollywood, Las Vegas, Arizona, Detroit and also were featured at many “Summer Rock Festivals”, Casinos, and, Special Events
The Record "Dopesnake" Released on Cleopatra/Deadline Records featured the members of Colby's original band DOPESNAKE, the original music has been selected for Movie Trialers, Licensed for TV, and every song has some of the best guests who wanted to be a part of the record (Tracii Guns, Phil Lewis, Mick Taylor, Fred Coury, Gilby Clarke, Teddy Zig Zag, Muddy, Pat Travers etc. "Hell Yeah" the first single is most recently the trailer song for the movie "Easy Rider - The Ride Back".
In 2007, Colby Veil was hand-picked by Guns N Roses original drummer Steven Adler to lead Adler’s Appetite for the 20th Anniversary of Appetite for Destruction. The tour kicked off at Hollywood's world famous Key Club. On stage, Colby was joined by none other than Izzy, Duff and of course Steven Adler, performing Guns N Roses hits to amazed fans. Celebrities were in attendance including guitar God Slash. This show launched the beginning of a world tour for “Adler’s Appetite," which hit venues in South America, Mexico, and the U.S.
Live, Hollywood Roses delivers the most authentic Guns N Roses experience and fans craving raw rock and roll will be mesmerized by Hollywood Roses' exciting, spot-on performance.

Anything Goes

And we've ofter rewound the clock
Since the puritans got a shock
When they landed on Plymouth rock
If today any shock they might try to stem
'Stead of landing of Plymouth rock
Plymouth rock would land on them
Was looked on as something shocking
But now God knows
Anything goes
Good authors to
Who once knew better words
Now only use four letter words
Writing prose
Anything goes
If driving fast cars you like
If low bars you like
If old hymns you like
If bare limbs you like
If Mae West you like
Or me undressed you like
Why nobody will oppose
When every night
The set thats smart
Is intruding on nudist parties
In studios
Anything goes
When Mrs. Ned McClean God bless her
Can get Russian reds to yes her
Than I suppose
Anything goes
When Rockafeller still can hoard
Enough money to let Max Gordon
Produce his shows
Anything goes
The world has gone mad today
And good's bad today
And black's white today
And days night today
And that gent today
You gave a cent today
Once owned several chateaux
When folks
Who still can ride in Jitney's
Find out Vanderbilts and Whitney's
Lack baby clo'es
Anything goes
When Sam Goldwyn
Can with great conviction
Instruct Anna Sten in diction
Than Anna shows
Anything goes
When you hear that
Lady Mendl standing up
Now turns a handspring landing up
On her toes
Anything goes
Just think of those shocks you've got
And those knocks you've got
And those blues you've got
From those news you've got
And those pains you've got
(if any brains you've got)
From those little radios
So Mrs. R.
With all her trimmin's
Can broadcast a bed from Simmon's
Cause Franklin knows
Anything goes
The song "Anything Goes" by Hollywood Roses is a cover of a classic Cole Porter song that has been reimagined to fit within the heavy rock genre. The lyrics of the song suggest a kind of social commentary or cultural critique, pointing out the differences between society in the past versus society in the present day. The opening lines of the song refer to the Puritans who were shocked by the New World, but suggest that if they were to return to the modern day, they would be the ones in shock.
The lyrics address society's changing values and perceptions of social norms. In the past, a mere glimpse of a woman's stocking would be considered scandalous, but now the world is much more liberal. The song suggests that even former cultured people, such as esteemed authors, have now resorted to using profanity in their writing. The lyrics also imply that anything can happen and that anything is now socially acceptable. For example, people can enjoy things like fast cars, low bars, and even nudist parties and baby clo'es, as opposed to appropriate baby clothes.
Overall, the song is a reflection of a society that appears to be breaking away from its traditional values and embracing a more liberal view of the world, where anything and everything goes. It speaks to an unapologetic approach to the human experience and celebrates the idea that we can all do what we want, no matter how unconventional it may be.
