Still There
Holygram - Modern Cults [Explicit] Lyrics

We started walking in lines
The sea was wild
It left a taste in my mouth
And I don't know why
We started falling apart
So ease my mind
With your dystopian hands
And I don't know why
We started falling apart
I saw you change
In our dandelion grave
And I'm still there
I'm still there
I'm still there
I'm still there
I saw your there
We started walking in lines
The sea was wild
It left a taste in my mouth
And I'm still there
Standing there
You started walking away
I saw you
You started walking away
The sea was wild
The lyrics to Holygram's song Still There depict a sense of nostalgia about a past relationship that has fallen apart. The opening lines are almost like a flashback to a time when the singer and their love interest were still together, walking in lines by the sea while it was wild. The imagery is powerful, as it subtly implies that their relationship was as untamed and unpredictable as the sea itself. However, the next few lines show how the relationship didn't last, and seemingly without reason, they began to fall apart. The singer is left with a painful memory of their failed love, and pleads for some sort of comfort from the person who left them. The use of the phrase "dystopian hands" is especially striking, as it contrasts the notion of hope with the idea of a different kind of future, a future that is bleak and hopeless.
The chorus of the song then repeats the lines "I'm still there", which beautifully portrays the idea of nostalgia and longing. The singer is still holding onto the memories of the times they had together, even if their love wasn't enough to keep them together. The second verse continues in the same vein, but this time it speaks about how the other person changed in a "dandelion grave". It's unclear what this means, but it could be an allusion to some sort of burial or death. Again, the poignant imagery highlights the idea of something beautiful being destroyed over time. The song ends on an unsettling note, as the other person begins to walk away, leaving the singer alone once again.
Overall, the lyrics to Still There are a deep exploration into the complexities of love and loss. Holygram has managed to create a song that is both beautiful and painful, and one that will resonate with anyone who has ever lost a love.

I saw you there
I noticed your presence
We started walking in lines
We began to follow a set path or direction
The sea was wild
The ocean was tempestuous and chaotic
It left a taste in my mouth
It had an impact on me
And I don't know why
I am unsure of the reason
We started falling apart
Our relationship began to disintegrate
So ease my mind
Provide me with comfort and reassurance
With your dystopian hands
Using your unconventional methods
And I'm still there
I am still present or affected by the situation
I saw you change
I observed a transformation in you
In our dandelion grave
In the place where we lay
And I'm still there
I am still affected by the situation
I'm still there
I am still present or affected by the situation
I'm still there
I am still present or affected by the situation
I'm still there
I am still present or affected by the situation
I saw you there
I noticed your presence
We started walking in lines
We began to follow a set path or direction
The sea was wild
The ocean was tempestuous and chaotic
It left a taste in my mouth
It had an impact on me
And I'm still there standing there
I am still present or affected by the situation, immobile
You started walking away
You began to distance yourself from the situation
I saw you
I noticed your presence
You started walking away
You began to distance yourself from the situation
The sea was wild
The ocean was tempestuous and chaotic

@Her Majestys Minstrel Erm. (And our) "day began grey" or maybe "day became grey"

GoodKid60 Yeah I don't think it's that

I wish it was both "falling in love" in the first verse, and "falling apart" in the latter. It would have made better sense, and give an element of over-time sequential dissolve within the lyrics...

This song leaves me feeling weirdly nostalgic, elated, and encredibly melancholic at the same time. I don't know why but I adore it anyways.
