Clear
Hoods Up Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A commitment that I hold true
In the things I say, in the things I do
This is something I hold so dear
I choose to keep my mind clear
Keep your poisons away from me
I'm gonna live and life is free
I choose to keep my mind clear
I choose to live my life the way that's right for me
I choose to live my life drug-free
The song "Clear" by Hoods Up is a powerful statement on the importance of living a drug-free life. The lyrics speak to the commitment that the singer has made to keep their mind and body free from the influence of harmful substances. The repetition of the phrase "I choose" emphasizes the personal agency and autonomy of the individual in making this choice. The line "addiction is my biggest fear" highlights the dangers and consequences of drug use, and the importance of avoiding it altogether. The overall message of the song is to live one's life on one's own terms, and to prioritize self-care and well-being above all else.

A mate of mine has a distro and he's selling this record there, saw the cover and was like "I gotta check this out". Good stuff! Nothing super unique and this might sound super cliché, but in shit times like these, for the animals, the environment and all innocent human souls, positive music and music that helps you get your shit out is what keeps me going. If I end up buying this record I have to lend it to my 12 year old brother.
