Hospital Lyrics

Cause easy is boring
I need a reason to jump out of my skin
Like a sinner without even dying
I guess i'll just keep trying until everything lines up
I should've worn a heavier jacket
I may not come around in the springtime
I need to grow up
I'm so tired of staring at the ceiling while everyone's either
High
Or bored
Or both
One of us was bound to fuck it up eventually
I can't feel me anymore
I wanna peel this film off my eyelids
I might be ticking right with your time bomb
I wanna jump right out of the sky
I need to grow up
A vulnerable child is still a child
But nobody hits their children anymore
A vulnerable child is still a child
But nobody hits their children anymore
A vulnerable child is still a child
But nobody hits their children anymore
A vulnerable child is still a child
But nobody hits their children anymore
The lyrics to "Right On" by Hospital explore themes of frustration, the desire for change, and the struggle to find one's identity. The song starts with the singer expressing a longing for something more than the mundane and easy, desiring a reason to break free from their current state. They compare themselves to a sinner without the release of death, emphasizing their ongoing desire for change and improvement. The repeated phrase "I need to grow up" reflects their realization that they need to mature and evolve.
The second verse delves into a sense of isolation and detachment, as the singer feels exhausted from watching others indulge in mind-altering substances or wallow in boredom. They feel disconnected from themselves, expressing a desire to shed their metaphorical blindfold and escape from the sky. The repeating refrain about a vulnerable child highlights the idea that although the singer still feels vulnerable and uncertain, they recognize that physical punishment is no longer deemed acceptable in society.
Through these lyrics, "Right On" captures the internal struggles of longing for change, feeling disconnected, and grappling with the complexities of growing up.
