Queen of The Scene

Or so she seemed
This place is over-rated
But it's the place to be
She never comes alone
And everyone's her friend
Her home away from home
That she shines like a diamond
Thinks she's a queen
When she's hanging on the shoulders of cocaine kings
She's got a lot of daddy's money
And a line on the sink
So she thinks
She's the queen of the scene
She's in the V.I.P
The envy of their fans
Thinks she's the city's elite
Because she's up with the band
She's high atop her throne
With the crown in hand
Well she can't feel her pretty face
Well she's looking down upon you but the bitch can barely stand
'Cause she shines like a diamond
Thinks she's a queen
When she's hanging on the shoulders of cocaine kings
She's got a lot of daddy's money
And a line on the sink
So she thinks
She's the queen of the
The train-wrecks
It's off track
Her nose bleeds
She's smashed
She cant see what she's had
It doesn't really matter 'cause she never looks back
She shines like a diamond
Thinks she's a queen
When she's hanging on the shoulders of cocaine kings
She's got a lot of daddy's money
And a line on the sink
So she thinks
She's the queen of the scene
She's the queen of the scene
The lyrics of "Queen of the Scene" by Hot Chelle Rae depicts a girl who seems to be sophisticated but is actually nothing more than a self-centered party girl. The singer describes her as someone who never goes anywhere alone and always looks for the place to be. The girl thinks she's looking classy, but in reality, she is just hanging out with cocaine kings and hangers-on.
The song goes on to describe her as someone who thinks she's in the V.I.P section because she's with the band, and everyone envies her. She is high atop her throne with the crown in her hand, but the girl can barely stand because of the drugs. She thinks she's the queen of the scene, but she's just a mess who's always high on cocaine.
The song is a criticism of the club scene and the people who depict themselves as the "elite." It showcases the dangers of drugs and how they can make someone self-destructive. The lyrics warn about the illusions of fame, fortune, and status, and how people can get trapped in them.
