The release of their debut album “Perspectives” furthered the bands reputation as they participated in the Boys Of Summer and No Sleep Til touring festivals, and took their sound throughout the European and the UK touring circuits.
However, the “Perspectives” touring cycle wore the band down, and in 2011 they decided on some major changes which would affect their band moving forward. They removed keyboards from their sound, and replaced front man Christopher Dicker with long time friend and peer Dan Casey.
They signed on with indie powerhouse UNFD (The Amity Affliction, The Getaway Plan) in 2012 and have been picked up by Edwin Tehrani at New World Artists for Booking.
Now, HvH, as their fans often refer to them as, have finished recording their second album “Crooked Teeth” and are gearing up for it’s release this Winter. Behind Casey’s energy and enthusiasm, they have delivered one of the albums of the year, brimming with attitude and ideas, and full of the kind of high octane hooks to set the heavy music world on fire.
“Crooked Teeth” is the first House Vs Hurricane album to be released via UNFD, and was recorded by Machine (Every Time I Die, Lamb Of God) in New Jersey in March / April this year. Throughout recording the band started making a series of videos to connect fans to the experience. Episodes 1-3 are currently online, with the remaining 3 episodes due out over the coming month.
“Crooked Teeth” will be released on July 13th with it’s lead single “Blood Knuckles” out via iTunes on June 8th.

and we'll try to make sense of it all.
i know you want to put it all behind you,
but it seems that its not so simple,
and we don't have the time.
to sit and figure out where we can go from here.
we can bring out the witnesses,
rely on progress designed by intellect.
(we'll love like we're brothers, draw breath like we're drowning.
the strength to make it through is in you.
we'll love like we're brothers, draw breath like we're drowning.
the strength to make it through is in you. )
there are only two positions,
the wicked and the victim.
but that's what you get for buying into such a crooked system.
the only faith i hold,
that a new consciousness will be born.
and we will be held accountable for all we've done.
we'll look back and wonder how we ever let it be this way.
(unless we begin at the start, then we can do nothing.)
we'll live like we're alive,
with the love we hold in our hearts.
(unless we begin at the start, then we can do nothing.)
(with my eyes tight shut, in a time like then,
i wonder if you'd ever feel this way again.
because i know that i'd feel the same.
what are we waiting for today? what will we ever take away.
i don't know why i lie awake. what are we waiting for today?)
(unless we begin at the start, then we can do nothing.)
we'll live like we're alive,
with the love we hold in our hearts.
(unless we begin at the start, then we can do nothing.)
we can start to push all else aside.
In "Orphan," House vs. Hurricane sings a powerful and thought-provoking message. The lyrics talk about dealing with the past and trying to make sense of it all. The singer encourages the person they are speaking with to confront their past and acknowledge that putting it behind them is not a simple task. They lament that they don't have much time to sit and figure out where to go from there. Instead, they suggest relying on progress designed by intellect and bringing out the witnesses to help.
The song then takes a dark turn as the singer explains that society is divided into two positions: the wicked and the victim. They criticize the system, calling it crooked, and state that it's the price we pay for buying into it. The song concludes on a note of hope, with the belief that a new consciousness will be born, and we will be held accountable for everything we've done. The singer urges everyone to live with love in their hearts and to start pushing everything else aside.
Overall, "Orphan" seems to convey the message that we can't escape our past, but we can grow and learn from it. It's up to us to reflect on our actions and the impact they have on society as a whole. By starting at the beginning and living with love in our hearts, we can push aside the negativity and strive towards a better future.
