Wild and wind blown that's how you've grown who can cling to a Ramblin' Rose
Ramble on ramble on why you ramble no one knows
Wild and wind blown that's how you've grown who can cling to a Ramblin' Rose
[ steel ]
Ramble on ramble on...
Who can cling to a Ramblin' Rose
The song "Black Rose" by Houston! is a classic country tune that tells the story of a mysterious and elusive woman. The opening lines repeat the name "Ramblin' Rose," and question why she rambles and wanders so much. The lyrics paint a picture of this woman as wild and untamed, with a free spirit that can't be held down. The reference to her being "wild and wind blown" suggests that she's been through a lot in life and is all the stronger for it.
As the song continues, we see that the singer himself is drawn to this Ramblin' Rose, but acknowledges that she's not one to be tied down. The repetition of the phrase "who can cling to a Ramblin' Rose" emphasizes this point - no one can keep her, but everyone wants to try. Despite this, the singer continues to be captivated by her, as her spirit and independence are an inspiration to him.
Overall, "Black Rose" is a song that celebrates the free-spirited and independent nature of women, while recognizing that it can be hard to hold on to someone like that. The Ramblin' Rose is a symbol of strength and resilience, and her story is one that is still relevant today.
