To tell you the truth I think I'm losing my mind
Won't you Let me go (let me go, let me go)
You want a decision so make up your mind
you've gotta be cruel if you wanna be kind
Let me go (Let Me Go, Let me Go)
Pre 1:
You don't care that much at all
And I I'm not sure if you agree
I'm not sure if you believe in me at all
And I'm starting to question
What are we doing? Who are we fooling?
You said you were leaving
So Why aren't you setting me free
(Why Won't You Let me Go, Why Won't You Let me Go)
Why are we waiting for what's gonna come
You said you were leaving
So Why aren't you setting me free
(Why Won't You Let me Go, Why Won't You Let me Go)
I'm sick of denying, I'm bored of the rules
The smoke and the mirrors we're acting like fools
Let me go (Let Me Go, Let me Go)
You wanna reaction you're pushing your luck
I'm not getting angry I don't give a fuck
But you, you don't care that much at all
You don't care that much at all
And I'm starting to question
What are we doing? Who are we fooling?
You said you were leaving
So Why aren't you setting me free
(Why Won't You Let me Go, Why Won't You Let me Go)
Bridge
I don't know what this is, it don't feel like it did before
I got tired of waiting, I Moved on
But You never meant it when you said ""It was amicable""
What are we doing who are we fooling
So Why aren't you setting me free
(Why Won't you let me Go, Why Won't you let me go)
You said you were leaving
So Why aren't you setting me free
In "Million" by Hudson, the lyrics express the frustration and confusion of being in a dysfunctional relationship. The singer acknowledges their partner's uniqueness and how they previously believed in the strength of their connection. However, the singer now feels like they are losing their mind because their partner is not giving them the freedom they need.
The lyrics suggest that the partner wants a decision to be made, but they are being cruel in their approach. The singer pleads to be let go, emphasizing the repetition of "Let Me Go" throughout the song. There is a sense of desperation and confusion as the singer questions whether their partner truly cares for them or believes in them at all.
The second verse continues with the singer questioning the purpose of their relationship. They express fatigue with denying the truth and following societal rules. The references to smoke and mirrors allude to the facade they have been living, acting foolishly and pretending that everything is fine. The singer no longer cares about reacting or getting angry because they are starting to realize that their partner doesn't care about them as much as they thought.
In the bridge, the singer reflects on how the relationship doesn't feel the same anymore. They have grown tired of waiting for their partner to change, and they have moved on from the false notion that the breakup would be amicable. The singer finally questions the purpose of their relationship, wondering why their partner is not setting them free despite claiming to leave.
