The Voice
Hurricane Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hear my voice
Out in the woods
Falling away
Far on a road

You know my name
Falling far away
Hear my voice
Hear my voice

Hear my voice
Out in the woods
Can you hear my sigh growing loud?
I don't know

You know my name
Falling far away
Hear my voice
Hear my voice

Ooooooooooh
Ooooooooooh

Hear my voice
Feel me rejoice
I know your name
You know my name

You know
Hear my voice
Hear my voice

Go away
Go away
Now
Leave me underground

Silence
Silence
Now
Quiet sounds around

'cause I am not falling -
The wind does not blow
Anymore

Yeah (7x)

Cuz I am not falling

The wind does not blow
Anymore

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Hurricane's song "The Voice" convey a sense of longing, isolation, and a desire to be heard. The opening lines, "Hear my voice, out in the woods, falling away, far on a road," depict a singer's plea to be listened to, even though they feel distant and disconnected. The repetition of the phrase "hear my voice" emphasizes their yearning to be acknowledged and understood.

The following lines, "You know my name, falling far away, hear my voice," further highlight the singer's desperation for their voice to be recognized and acknowledged. There is a sense of vulnerability and loneliness, as they express their desire for someone to hear their voice, being out in the woods.

The chorus brings a shift in emotion, as the singer asks if the listener can hear their sigh growing loud. The sigh represents their pent-up emotions and frustrations. The repetition of "Hear my voice" throughout the song reflects the singer's persistent plea to be heard and understood, as if they are desperately reaching out to someone.

The second half of the song introduces a more mysterious and introspective tone. The lines, "Go away, go away now, leave me underground, silence, silence now, quiet sounds around," suggest a desire for solitude and introspection. The singer wants to retreat from the outside world and find solace in silence.

The ending of the song reveals a sense of empowerment and independence. The lyrics, "Cuz I am not falling, the wind does not blow anymore," signify a newfound strength and resilience. The singer declares that they are no longer affected by external forces and are standing firm.

@bielmenegazzo

my God I'm such a fan!!! Tysm for you guys' music

@hanssolo8795

That would be cool if the song helped generate 2 winners.

@hunterburns3980

This is the man who sang 3 songs at my grandfathers funeral. He was hired by my grandfather at 14 and sang Wagon Wheel, Broken Halos, and House of the Rising Sun in 2021 at the funeral, which were 3 of my grandfathers favorite songs. It’s so amazing seeing him go as far to The Voice and see his talent get more recognition.

@novascotiaskater1868

I have to remind myself these contestants are very often just hard working Americans who, for some of them, have zero training and many have never sung in a public setting before- this guy’s voice is great and with some help in stage presence etc he could be very successful

@melindanicholls7911

Personally, I care more about their ability to sing than their stage presence, but that's just me 😅

@Maaron112

He does perform on stage often though. There’s a difference between being on stage though and knowing you’re going to be broadcasting to millions.

@vokasimid5330

Well said

@sarajah4him
