The original members were Masafumi Isobe (guitar, vocals), Kudo 'Tekkin' Tetsuya (bass) and Hiramoto Leona (drums). Hirabayashi Kazuya (guitar, vocals) joined the band in 2000.
The band officially disbanded on March 6, 2005. They reunited in February 2012 with most of the old lineup and a new drummer, Yamazaki Masayuki. Shortly after the reunion, Kishino Hajime replaced Kudo on bass.
The official website of the band is www.husking-bee.com (in Japanese).
According to the the band's Japanese Wikipedia page, the intended meaning of its name is "corn-peeling association" (トウモロコシの皮むき会), referring to the traditional social gatherings for peeling corn that were common around harvest time in the 19th century United States.

Many′s the time I've sung with you
Many′s the time I've read your words
Something told me I could see you
But it's my feeling that some things are the same as you
Your voice reminds me of my childhood
Many′s the time I′ve sung with you
Many's the time I was touched by your cry
You′re heard singing in the distance
Needless to say, you and me differ as to place and knowledge of life
But it's my feeling that something′s congenial to you
I was sick for your zest of making
I can hear you singing in the distance now
I wish it could last
Your melody straightens me up
I'm sick for your zest of making
Many′s the time I've sung with you
Many's the time I′ve read your words
Something told me I could see you
Needless to say, you and me differ as to country and language
Needless to say, you and me differ as to place and knowledge of life
But it′s my feeling that some things are the same as you
Your voice reminds me of my childhood
I can hear you singing in the distance now
I wish it could last
Your melody straightens me up
I'm sick for your zest of making
It′s wonderful how many songs you make
I throught how and why
The thing is, you really need a sound
You'll really need a melody for someone
For yourself
I can hear you singing in the distance now
I wish it could last
Your melody straightens me up
I′m sick for your zest of making
Many's the time I′ve sung with you
Many's the time I've sung with you
The song "Sing To Me" by Husking Bee describes the connection between two people through music despite the differences in their countries, languages, and upbringing. The lyrics emphasize how the voice of the other person reminds him of his childhood and how they have sung together and read each other's words many times. The song further goes on to mention how he is sick for the other person's zest of making music and how their melody straightens him up.
The lyrics may also suggest that the other person is a musician or a songwriter, as the singer mentions how many songs they make and that they need a melody for someone or even for themselves. Despite the differences, the two share a passion for music, and the singer feels a deep connection to the other person's voice and the way it makes him feel.
The song's poetic language and heartfelt emotion convey a deep appreciation for music's power to connect people, transcend boundaries, and evoke memories and emotions. The song encourages listeners to embrace music as a means of expressing themselves, connecting with others, and finding meaning and beauty in life.
