In the first book alone, Peeta finishes off a girl for the Careers while he's pretending to team up with them, tries to kill Cato with a spear, accidentally poisons Foxface, and stabs at least one ex/part-human mutt to death. The guy may not be a born warrior, but he pulls his weight.

Yeah, he FAILED to kill Cato, but he SUCCEEDED in preventing him from killing Katniss, which was his real goal. Also, he walks, runs, strategizes, and ultimately fights for the rest of his first Games after sustaining a nearly fatal injury. Then, at the end, he gets his leg shredded so badly it has to be amputated later, and still keeps his wits about him and supports Katniss for the win. Katniss is the better fighter of the two, but Peeta is no weakling and she'd have been killed several times over without his help.

im telling you, foxface's death was 100% a suicide. she was by far the smartest in that arena, for despite her lack of physical advantages the survived into the top 5 with the cleverest tactic and presentation of it. as the end of the games neared, she realized that sooner or later she would be forced into physical battle if she lived any longer, knew she could not win that, and decided to take the more "honorable" way out of the games. we know she posesses a profound knowledge of plants, we see how she regognizes each of them in the training room, and the edibility of berries would be something that you learn first about plants, given that they provide a reasonable source of food. so there is no way that the lethality of the nightlock went dismissed by foxface; she simply saw no better way out of the games, spied on katniss and peeta, and when no one was watching, stole some of the berries and knowingly poisoned herself to death.

This is because the district 4 tributes are also considered careers, but their training facilities aren’t a as large or good and they rarely win. They are mainly a food asset, and are usually killed off towards the end of the games

I read up something on the girl of district 3. She was actually the smartest in that arena she faked her death so no one would kill her. She also learned how to stop her heart for a few seconds then make it start again. Then she got carried up in that thing when they were cleaning the arena and she escaped from the back. Yeah this vid has a bunch of made up stuff. In the behind the scenes clips of them choreographing the fight you can see that the district 6 dude does this :

He first gets beaten up by cato and left for dead, then he loses a fight over a backpack against the district 10 boy, he strangles the D5 boy but gets his head smashed into a crate, then he grabs a sword and attempts to kill glimmer and finally gets stabbed by cato inside the cornucopia.

Thresh wasn’t killed by mutts in the movie, he was killed by Cato. Katniss clarifies in one of the mockingjay films when one of the District 2 workers asks her why he shouldn’t just kill her and she says something like “ no reason, make snow happy, the same reason I killed Cato and he killed Thresh and he killed Clove, and who wins? Fun fact! The girl from district 3 (her name was actually amber) had before the games taught herself how to make her heart stop, so when the games started she made her heart stop, tricked the game makers, and got lifted into the hover craft, then when she got back to district 3 she ran away and made it back to her family.😊 I thought that was really cool!❤

@@CocoIzCraCra hunger games don’t have comics, like straight up they don’t exist. Your friend just found fan made stuff, it’s fanfic in a different form. It’s not canon, the district 2 girl literally can’t escape. That’s not possible, the Capitol aren’t stupid it’s why they had to have an elaborated plan in catching fire that includes the head gamemaker to have tributes escape in the first place. If the girl escaped, they’d notice and kill her.

I hope I don’t come off as rude, I’m just being honest. It’s not that we’ll never know, we do and that didn’t happen. The hunger games as a franchise isn’t like stuff like Harry Potter where extra information that’s not in the canon material has been said

I think the saddest death was Cato's ( ik just let me explain)
1) his death scene was the most brutal and the most depressing. Think about it, the speech he gave before he died. " im dead anyway, just one more kill, its all I know. Bring pride to my district, not that it matters ."
2) he was as much a victim as the others. Maybe more because he was brain washing into thinking that it's his life goal.
3) How he realized that he was just a pawn In their games. Because no matter how much bravado he has, he's still a 18 year old kid.

And, in the books, he was torturing all the night before he died (by the mutts). He was full of blood and he literally begged Katniss to kill him. I feel sorry for him:(
