I Muvrini was formed in the early 1980s by the brothers Jean-Francois Bernardini and Alain Bernardini who were born in the village of Tagliu-Isulacciu in the north of Corsica. They are named after a type of wild sheep which live in the mountains of Corsica.
The Bernardini brothers were introduced to traditional Corsican music at an early age by their father, Ghjuliu, who was a well known poet and singer. They recorded their first single with their father in collaboration with the group Canta u Populu Corsu. Ghjuliu Bernardini died in December 1977 and I Muvrini's first album, I Muvrini ... ti ringrazianu, which was released in 1979, was dedicated to their father's memory.
In 2000, I Muvrini joined up with Sting to record the their most famous song, "Terre d'Oru" (English: Fields of Gold).
Throughout their career they have promoted the Corsican language and culture.

Passata l'età
Porghjimi una manu
Sopra à lu chì fà
È insegnami l'alba
D'un altru culore
A spera di sole
D'un altru campà
Dimmi ciò chì manca
Ciò chì venerà
À u core spietatu
Di l'umanità
È insegnami l'alba
Pè un altru amore
U veru calore
D'un altru campà.
Insegnami l'alba
Chì si vole levà
A spera di sole
D'un altru campà.
Iè Iè Iè rispondimi Iè
Iè Iè rispondimi Iè
Iè Iè Iè rispondimi Iè
Portami luntanu
Fammi viaghjà
Sin'à u veranu
Spuntatu digià
È insegnami l'alba
Chì si leva in fiore
Dammi issu favore
D'un altru campà.
È insegnami l'alba
Chì si vole pisà
Dammi issu favore
D'un altru campà
Iè Iè Iè rispondimi Iè
Iè Iè rispondimi Iè
Iè Iè Iè rispondimi Iè
Inventami l'ore
Passata l'età
Porghjimi una manu
Sopra à lu chi fà
E insegnami l'alba
D'un amore à dà
U veru calore
D'un altru campà
Iè Iè Iè rispondimi Iè
Iè Iè Iè rispondimi Iè
Iè Iè Iè rispondimi Iè
Iè Iè Iè rispondimi Iè.
The lyrics of I Muvrini's song Rispondimi iè describe a person asking for guidance and seeking a deeper meaning in life. The first stanza begins with the singer asking for someone to teach them about the sunrise in a different way, to show them a different kind of life. The singer then asks what is missing and what will come to the harsh heart of humanity. The chorus repeats the phrase "rispondimi iè" which means "answer me" in the Corsican dialect, emphasizing the singer's desperation for an answer.
In the second stanza, the singer asks to be taken away on a journey until summer comes and to be taught about the sunrise again. The singer wants to see it and experience it in a different way. The chorus repeats again before the third stanza begins with a repetition of the first stanza, with a slight variation at the end. Here, the singer asks to be taught about the sunrise once again, but this time, they want to learn about a love they can give and the true warmth of a different way of living.
The lyrics evoke a sense of longing for something more, something beyond the mundane and routine existence. The prayer-like repetition of the chorus emphasizes the singer's plea for guidance and understanding. The references to the sunrise symbolize hope and renewal, and the desire to experience it in a different way suggests a desire for a new perspective and a new way of living.
