Original guitarist Beverly Barrington replaced Annah in 2007 and Jason McMaster (Watchtower, Dangerous Toys) replaced Erika on vocals in 2008. The band will release a new album called "The Spider Queen" in September 2009.

This gives me Hamilton Energy and I’ll tell you why.

His death was because of his sickness other than the execution itself, basically telling Monokuma to go F*** himself before his ultimate death. This of course angered Monokuma, because it means his execution didn’t work, as you can see at the end. In other words, his mind basically went “Monokuma wants to kill me? I’ll kill myself instead!”

Just like Hamilton. (Semi spoiler warning)

When Jefferson, Madison, and Burr found out he cheated on his wife Eliza with Maria, Hamilton thought they would tell people so he created The Reynolds Pamphlet, basically admitting he cheated on his wife. His mind basically went “They’re gonna tell everybody I cheated on my wife? I’ll write a whole pamphlet on it instead!”

What does this mean? Nothing I’m just a Hamilton fan and saw similarities in these scenes.

I love how pissed off Monokuma looks after he sees his punishment failed. I was sad to see Kaito go, he had become one of my favourite characters but I'd like to think that his sickness getting to him before the end of the execution was his final "F*** You" to Monokuma.

This is probably the only execution in the series where the executee never truly felt dispair. Kaito got what he wanted, and was able to basically flip off Monokuma in the process. Why do some people hate him?

Not only that but this execution is parallel (I think that's the word) to the opening execution in the first game. Considering this is also the last execution in the series it's the best execution besides maybe Chiaki's in DR3(and even that's debatable)

Kaito is the true hero of this story. He knows he's not gonna live long so he asked Maki and Shuichi to train with him, which is his way of getting Maki to talk more and face her past. He then challenged Kokichi to a duel, knowing full well that his days are numbered either way. After shooting Kokichi in the arm, he blocked off Maki's arrow. And here's the best part of the game. Kokichi knows about Kaito's disease all along, so in an effort to get Kaito to believe him, he gave the antidote to Kaito, knowing that he wouldn't live long either way. Kaito, too shocked from the discovery, has no choice but to cooperate with Kokichi to create the unsolvable murder. In the trial, Kaito hopped in an Exisal and played everyone so hard that even Monokuma gets tricked. His act is so convincing that Shuichi has to pause mid-trial many times to re-think about what happened. After his trial, he stepped out, confessed and told everyone to live a life of optimism/hope. He then bravely accepted Monokuma's punishment, walked into the spaceship and released his last breath in space, before Monokuma can descend the spaceship to kill him. His execution is literally a middle finger to monokuma, because instead of being punished, he gets what he always wanted. Remember that monokuma's punishment is the only way for him to fulfill his dream, and in a strange twist of fate, he gets exactly that.

Had Kaito not enter the killing game, he would die a very painful death without accomplishing anything. But because he entered the killing game, he gets his friends to have faith in themselves, killed the guy who's always giving them trouble, tricked the mastermind into beliving its an unsolvable murder, fulfilled his dream in the name of punishment, and gets a ton of respect from everyone after his death. Kaito's life is a message: If you believe in miracles, a miracle will really happen.

I don't like Kokichi that much as hes a bit annoying and obnoxious. Someone like Nagito was a likeable character as hes just so out of it and out of control and someone like that. Kokichi tried to be a Costco-verison of Nagito. He had his few good moments so he's not my least favorite V3 character like he's my 4th least favorite V3 character. I love V3 chapter 5 and kaito is my 2nd favorite character in the game. Katio is one of the best likeable characters in the game, and he's 2nd torwards Miu.

By far one of my favorite executions. Of course I was sad to see Kaito die, but he died with no regrets and a smile on his face. He died knowing that he did everything he wanted to do in life. He died saying "F you" to Monokuma.

And of course, Kiibo wanting to protect everyone, regardless of all the shite they gave him for being a robot was just precious. He deserves a lot more love

I just had this weird feeling that made me want to comment about it even though nobody will really find this comment amusing or interesting. Anyway, remember the first execution in the whole series? No, not Leon. I'm talking about Kyoko's father Jin. I was also surprised that no one really talked about his execution. If you don't know, Jin had the same execution as Junko and Kaito. But, he actually dies by being (I'm guessing) burned. All that's left is his bones which Kyoko finds later on. But, at the end, Monokuma is laughing while the camera zooms in on his despair side. While in THIS execution, he is pissed while the camera zooms in on his hope side. It's probably foreshadowing the hope of some of the survivors. Or, it could be something deeper, more hidden from searching eyes. I hope my little theory is right. I hope someone finds this comment and reply to me. That's all I wanted to say, laterz.

@seal_ Yeah, I agree with the ending. It didn't really sit right with me. It was like missing something entirely. If I'm being honest, I would have liked to see Tsumgi in a good execution. Probably while she's dying in her own trap, she gets to see the bodies of all the other victims. INCLUDING Kaede. Being the last person she sees, she dies. It's just my own idea of an execution that could've been real. But yeah, the ending felt really empty, and I didn't really like the fact that Tsumugi got the easy way out, even though she got everyone killed and framed Rantaro's murder on Kaede.

It has been proven that Kaito’s sense of DOL pain was in the negatives, meaning he felt no despair or pain, but instead satisfaction, meaning this is the only execution where the victim does not feel despair. This also explains why he died smiling.

If you look at his face before he starts coughing you can see he started smiling because he finally made it to space, accepting his death because he would always say “I can’t die yet! I haven’t been to space!” Which is why he happily accepted his death

I’m not sure but it also looks like at some point he started to force himself to cough and that’s because he didn’t want to let Monokuma have his way so instead of the execution he decided to kill himself with the sickness which is also why Monokuma was so angry, yes because the execution failed but it also counts as a loose for him since Kaito didn’t die the way Monokuma planned

When Kaito "died" I screamed. No other death in Danganronpa had affected me to that point. I didn't realize how much I had come to love him until I saw his jacket sticking out from the hydraulic press. Then they brought him back just to kill him, and I was sad.

Kaito is the Ultimate Badass ALPHA Male of the Danganronpa series. I mean, Hajime might be the fucking Ultimate Deus Ex Machina and Makoto might be the Ultimate MC, but you know what? At the end of the day, Kaito accomplished many thing that made him the very best:
1- Encouraged everyone in the killing game to keep going and not lose hope. Not the trademark “hope” of the game, but literal hope.
2- He supported the Mc, Shuichi, til the very end and showed us the very definition of being a bro
3- Teamed up with Kokichi and accomplished the only thing nobody has ever done before: Outplay Monokuma in a class trial and almost end a killing game.
4- Was the first blackened to not die by actual punished. The man died before Monokuma killed him, and even called it out. The madman. (Makoto doesn’t count because that trial was rigged and even Alter Ego saved his ass. If not for that, Makoto would be rip)
And last, the most important of all:
5- He protected his waifu. As far as I’m concerned, Makoto couldn’t protect Sayaka and Kyoko did die, but was revived cuz yeah why not, let’s make appear a random cure in the middle of a killing game. As for Hajime... the last time I checked, Chiaki died twice. And, in front of him.
Anyway, Kaito the Ultimate MAN.

1. Went to space, like he always wanted to
2. Fucked Monokuma’s plan over by dying on his own.
3. Made Maki talk more before he died.
4. Made everyone get along nearing the end of the killing game.

I just finished the game and wow, I bawled my eyes out at this execution. I didn't like Kaito at first but he quickly became my favorite.

I think the part that hit the most was when Maki confesses to him. You could kinda tell she liked him (the hug, how she started liking the nickname, how she's jealous in the virtual world) but the confession was still unexpected. And the fact that he died smiling, having seen space.

But the worst thing, the thing that hurt the most was at the ending, when you are shown Kaito saying "hell yeah I'm gonna do so much murder!" bruh. 💔💔💔

i used to hate kaito because i heard that he killed kokichi (i saw a video about it and i haven’t played the game yet)
but honestly...once i played the game i somehow ended up crying over kaitos death and didn’t even care that kokichi had actually died.
...how strange...
also, i’ve now realized that kaito only wanted to train with maki and shuichi because he knew he wouldn’t live long, and he really cared about them. that’s really sweet 💕
oh and kaito implied that he wanted to die in his own way, even though he technically got executed, he also got his way, AND he ended up going to outer space like he’s always wanted!
I guess he kinda got a happy ending :)

Underrated aspect to why this is one of the best executions: It’s a V3 Execution without a Monokid! I really hated how they split the focus between student & Monokid for most of the executions, it made them feel like more of a joke than anything else.
